Since Cameron's "Terminator 2", the Terminator series has gotten worse and worse. Finally the sixth installment in the Terminator series.
Not to mention the governor's age, whether it is appropriate to play T800 again. When I came up, I ignored the plots of the first three episodes and directly advertised myself as the orthodox sequel to the second episode. You have to say that your plot is better than the first three. There are a lot of logical flaws, plus political correctness. People who watch it want to pick the director and screenwriter every minute.
Take stock of some of the most impressive places in the film.
One, the Terminator this time is a Mexican actor, and the original savior has also changed from John Connor to a Mexican factory girl.
It's not that the substitution is bad, but these two actors obviously can't support the roles they play. I really don't understand what the director wants to do except for political correctness . The previous Terminators have used women in a row, and Koreans are the Terminators. Now add a Mexican, when is it our African friends' turn to come and make a cameo in the Terminator.
The Terminator's IQ was dropped all the way, since he can easily control the drone. Why not just send an air-to-surface missile and take away the heroine and others. Or open a fighter to shoot down the heroine's cargo plane. If it doesn't work, prepare more RPG explosives to die together. Don't play melee. This is how good you feel to be able to choose melee combat in a passive 1v3 situation.
How did the flower girl become the savior? A factory girl with no experience, after Judgment Day, she can lead mankind to resist the devil army just by giving an empty speech. You say it's okay if you have a high IQ. The action plan was made by Sarah and Grace, and the governor worked hard. What did you future savior do? How to survive Judgment Day at this point is the question.
Second, the savior John Connor was killed at the beginning, and a big paradox appeared in the timeline.
Originally, Skynet was losing ground, so he came up with the idea of going back to the past and killing John Connor to change his fate. Then since John is dead, T800's mission should not continue to assassinate John's successor. Why did the mission suddenly drop, and even Skynet became a devil army.
Without Skynet, there would be no T800 sent to the past to assassinate John in the future. If there is no T800 sent to the past, it will not cause John to die. This forms a very serious paradox, and it is still a deadlock.
The logic of the first two Terminator films is flawless. Although John and others destroyed the Skynet chip, Judgment Day was just postponed, and John would eventually become the savior. And Skynet will still be born. The whole cycle is not broken.
This "Terminator Dark Fate" directly breaks the cycle, and it can't justify itself, supporting a completely unjustifiable "savior". This is not to trip yourself up. How should the future plots be shot in order to return to the settings of the first and second parts.
Three, an aging coalition of the aging governor and Sarah Connor.
Although the governor is the face of the Terminator, but at this age, he is still in this muddy water, which is really unbearable to see the T800 being dismantled again. This time, the former Sarah Connor was found. A 72-year-old grandfather and a 63-year-old grandma form the last hope to protect the savior of mankind. How hopeless the future of mankind should be.
After the governor killed John Connor, he actually became a normal person, and he lived incognito for most of his life, having a family and a relationship. Is this still a robot? Back in "Terminator 2", John Jr. had trouble teaching the governor to laugh. Now T800 actually has a wife and children. And a robot, where's the beard. And the beard has turned white. Besides, in the fight against the Terminator, the governor also has a share. Why just instruct Sarah to kill Terminators everywhere, and hide in the countryside to spend the rest of her life with his wife and children.
Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton, was once a heroine. The ending of "Terminator 2" could have had a perfect ending to Sarah's story. I have to do a reboot and invite this old lady out to fight the Terminator again. A grumpy Sarah saw that killing her own son, ruining her life, and instructing her T800 for half her life to work together calmly. This level of hatred can no longer be put down with just one or two sentences.
These two old men actually contributed to the main attack in the film. Grace, an artificial human, twitched and smoked all over her body after two hits. If you don't take medicine, you can't even get out of a detention center. Such a magical combination also won the "high intelligence" Rev-9. I think the writers are playing with the audience's IQ.
Fourth, Cameron's producer has become a laughing stock.
Every time I shoot a new Terminator, I have to pull the card god to talk about it. This time, he even moved out of the title of producer, calling on fans to support this "orthodox" sequel. But Kashen doesn't personally direct or participate in screenwriting.
This behavior of selling dog meat under the guise of sheep is once again extremely disappointing. The golden signboard of "Terminator" has been almost consumed.
It's time for this famous big IP to come to an end. "Dark Fate" has an investment of 190 million and only 261 million at the global box office. It should also give a big warning to Hollywood studios. Let's keep the classic images of the first two "Terminator" in the hearts of fans.
