Before watching this documentary, I never thought that the hierarchy of monkey society is so strict, nor that the documentary can tell a story like a story, and show the story of a monkey mother's counterattack so vividly.
The film begins with a monkey castle in the Sri Lankan jungle, where there is a huge fig tree, mountains and water, and a beautiful environment. There are 50 monkeys in this group. The young female monkey Masha belongs to the lower class. She cannot enjoy the sunshine and delicious food at the top of the tree, and can only pick up food that the upper class under the tree does not look down on. The upper class consists of the monkey king and three queens and their children. This kind of power is solidified. The monkeys of the lower class can only help them groom their hair to please them in exchange for not being beaten and ostracized. Even the little monkeys of the upper class can bully them arbitrarily.
The story begins with a foreign young male monkey, Kurma. He wanted to join the group but was rejected by the Monkey King, but he still found an opportunity to have a relationship with Masha, who was a good friend, and conceived his child, who was rejected by the monkey. Wang found out and drove away. Martha was forced to take her own children to start a hard life. In order to feed the children, she looked for food everywhere, violated the territory of the three queens, was severely beaten, and even the children were banished. Masha searched for a long time to find her son. This part made me the most worried. The society of monkeys is also so cruel, which I didn't expect.
Later, in order to avoid the exclusion of the three queens, Masha took the risk to steal food from the human society, and went to the pond to risk eating lotus pods. This great maternal love is really touching.
Later, after more than half a year, Martha's husband Kurma came back, stronger and more mature, learned how to win goodwill with the members, and joined the group. At this time, foreign invaders occupied their monkey castle, the rule of the monkey king was overthrown, and the whole monkey group was forced to run away and wander. Masha showed better survival skills in the wandering. Later, the monkey group recaptured the monkey castle under the leadership of Kurma, and Masha also successfully entered the upper class.
This counterattack is similar to human society, and more cruel than human society.
