Because I was too bored to watch a disaster movie during the epidemic, a friend recommended this Doomsday. The disaster films I thought were exaggerated and cool special effects, people panicked, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, noise and anxiety.
But Doomsday is very different. Apart from the bright colors of the male protagonist's dream at the beginning, the next is the foggy and dark tones. Even the costumes of the little boy and the male protagonist are gray and sloppy.
The tone is dim, the plot is slow, and it seems that there are only two of them left in the huge world. A pair of father and son travel alone in the apocalypse, hungry and tattered. The people I meet with great difficulty feed on people, and because of the scarcity of food, the only people who remain have lost their humanity.
The little boy has a kind heart, and the flame in his heart has never been extinguished. He is well protected by his father. The father and son have been wandering constantly, and the seaside is their hope.
I thought that there would be a happy ending when we got to the beach. People at the beach support each other and live together. They still have humanity, and the fire in their hearts still burns.
But when they got to the beach, they found nothing. Perhaps there is also a father and son on the other side of the sea. This is the real doomsday, no hope, no future. In the end, the father also died to protect the child.
The movie still gives us a little hope, the little boy meets a family, and it's a good family, because even in the end, they didn't eat their dog.
The true doomsday is silent.
