I hate Churchill very much, because I have read several books and know that he often used the Chinese army as a shield and stepping stone during World War II, while Roosevelt would really help China in the war. After watching this "Darkest Hour", I have another attitude towards him: respect. In the face of such dark moments, he can persevere bravely, resist all internal and external attacks, and successfully lead the country out of the predicament. Even if you are his enemy, you should both hate and respect him.
This video, I still like this poster below:
Still the same, I have excerpted some of my favorite lines, and put them below as a souvenir:
1. He's very good at putting people who do their best to help him out.
2. When youth is gone, rely on wisdom to prove it.
3. You need to see him once a week, just like you need to have a tooth pulled once a week.
4. Please remember, we are in the midst of one of the greatest wars in history, and when I shoulder this burden, I feel happy and hopeful, and I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.
5. You ask me what policy will I take?
That is to use all our abilities to fight at sea, on land and in the air, and use all the power that God has given us to defeat the most vicious tyrant that has never been seen before in the dark and tragic history of mankind.
You ask me what is my goal?
My answer is two words: Victory! Victory at all costs. Because without victory, there is no survival.
6. Although you are not perfect, you are strong. You do not follow blindly, so you are very wise.
7. Whoever has the guts to do what we know cannot be done deserves the trust of all of us.
8. There is no final success, and no fatal failure. The most valuable thing is the courage to keep going.
