This movie from more than 50 years ago does not look outdated at all. The director tried to use a magical technique to show the audience the unknown of life and the life experience of frustration. The film was shot in 1946, the first year after the end of World War II. The director may have fully thought of the shadow that war has brought to people. So at Christmas that year, such a realistic, comedy and slightly magical movie was released. Yes, there is nothing happier than being alive. Stewart's acting is a little bit of exaggeration in a stage play, but I think that the angel who came down to earth and the greedy big capitalist Potter in a wheelchair perform best in the whole play.
George Bailey was born into an ordinary family, and his father ran a small credit institution in a local town. When he was young, George had to work in a drugstore in the town. George had a wish to become a millionaire since he was a child. This dream was also the dream of millions of people in the United States at that time. The movie deliberately gave George his own protagonist halo. George has grown into a talent since he was a child, and the little girls liked him very much. This kind of paving technique now seems a bit too old-fashioned and too rigid. George is still a brave (saving the younger brother who fell into the ice cave) and responsible kid (found that the medicine was mismatched, and kept the secret for his whole life). When his father was alive, he had to constantly deal with the big chaebols. George had been influenced by his father since he was young, and he knew that the interests of the poor were so vulnerable to the big chaebols. So when he was very young, George knew that his father was doing the right thing. When the big chaebol insulted his father, George would not hesitate to defend his father. The director gave the audience a few shots to outline that George has been a good-quality and intelligent child since he was a child. When he grows up, George wants to pursue his dream (going to college). But life seemed to give him a twist, and his father died of a stroke after the prom. George, who was already ready to go to college, had to take care of his father's funeral. The purpose of my father running a small credit company is to help more local people to own their own houses. Seeing that his father's efforts were going to be divided by the big chaebols, George gave up his dream. In that small office, I took care of my father's work and gave my brother the opportunity to go to college. These qualities in George were like sparkling stars in that era. The movie may not be praising anything, maybe this is the choice that people should have made in that era. This is life, whether you like it or not, whether you are happy or not. If you are forced to this point, then go forward bravely.
Keeping his father's family business is far from as easy as George imagined. The big chaebols are always running against him in various ways. Whether it is a public opinion war or a joint other banks, it is estimated that the loan business will be blocked. George was always optimistic and positive about all this, even if he took out the money for the newlyweds to buy the house and furniture-that 2,000 yuan helped George survive the first "financial crisis." Even if there were 2 yuan left in the end, George happily deposited the two yuan in the safe. In the ruined house back home, my newly married wife made a big table of meals, good buddies helped decorate the "wedding room", and the self-service grill made with record players looked amazing now. What makes people really happy is the firm love, friendship, and affection in the bottom of the certification. Happiness in life is not a sudden big surprise one day, but a small surprise in daily life, and the mentality of looking at things. However, George's desire to get ahead hasn't changed. Seeing his classmate Sam's luxury car, George stomped on the door of his car. After graduating from high school, all of George's classmates were in the big city of New York, or the west coast, and they were the only ones who received a small salary in this small town. Even on the battlefield, due to the sequelae of his deafness, he could not go to the battlefield. George can only do some logistics work such as transporting newspapers and transporting used tires, which is far from his dream back then. As the business grew bigger and bigger, there were more and more children in the family, and the desire became stronger and stronger. George's business also threatened the position of the big chaebol Potter. On Christmas Eve, Potter finally caught an opportunity to make George go bankrupt. This made George crazy, and he began to speak malicious words to the people around him, first his uncle, then his children and wife. George complained about everything in his life, and even the school teacher. He still hates himself the most back and forth, hating his incompetence and thinking that he can jump off the bridge and walk away. The angels sent by God and George are brothers and sisters. They have been two hundred years old and they are still second-class angels without wings-heaven is not easy to mix up. George wondered if it would be better if the world didn't have himself. The angels let George experience another kind of life. What would happen if the world didn't have himself. If there is no George, there will be no one to save the younger brother when he falls into the ice cave. Without George’s mismatched potion, Gore would become an old drunkard who had been in prison, and even the entire town would be controlled by Potter. Without George’s own wife Zi is just a librarian. And his uncle would live in a lunatic asylum because of bankruptcy. You live not only because of you, but the people around you need you. They will live better because of you, and they will be happy because of your existence. If this world is without you, the lives of those around you may be even worse. Life will not always be what you want, the key depends on what mentality you look at all of this. The life of experience had a huge impact on George, and he begged the angel to let him return to his previous life, even if what happened, he didn't care. At the end of the film, I think it was a happy reunion, and the angel finally got a pair of wings.
We always say if...if...the truth is that there is no if in life, and even if there is, it may not be the best choice. Your past, which should never be erased, is what shaped you today. This film review should be the last one of 2019. Sigh: It's a wonderful life.
