1. The force awakens: the awakening of light and darkness and the balance of the force

Where there is light, there will be shadows, and where there is darkness, day will surely usher in. Black and white coexist and restrain each other, one dying and the other growing, entangled and reciprocated, without beginning and end. Darkness must exist, because the coexistence of darkness and light is an indisputable law of nature; the dark side itself does not represent evil, it is the training and application of the dark side by the Sith that equates it with evil. What is evil is not the dark force, but its application and the people who use it. To erroneously seize power that should not be controlled by living people is a contempt for the laws of nature, and it will inevitably push its users to corruption and depravity.

For the Jedi, the ultimate meaning of the balance of the force is to eliminate the Sith, because the rise of the Sith is the destruction of the balance of the force. However, compared with the tens of thousands of years in the Jedi, the existence of the Sith is only a few thousand years old. So , before the rise of the Sith, did the Force reach equilibrium? If the Force had reached equilibrium before the birth of the Sith, where did the prophecy of "The Chosen Son of Balance the Force" come from? Does the "balance of force" mentioned in the prophecy really mean the elimination of Sith?

Anakin tried to achieve the balance of the Force by destroying the Sith, but only brought decades of breathing time to the galaxy. What seems to be dead is actually spying in the dark; what seems to be successfully strangled still sprouts in the corner. Darkness cannot be killed, even if the last Sith is destroyed, the dark side will still exist. Light and darkness exist in every corner of the natural world, flowing in the force, and hidden in everyone's heart.

The extinction of the Sith is not a balance, but the coexistence of light and darkness. Embrace the light, but accept and face the existence of the dark side; don't actively use the dark force, but no longer try to kill it .

The Force Awakening is the awakening of Rey and Kailuo in the light and dark sides respectively.

Darkness rises, and light to meet it. The reverse is also true.

Rey and Kailuo are two sides of the coin. Whether in strength or inner struggle, they are equal to each other and echo each other . Rey was born in darkness, but longed to become unblemished light, desperately suppressing the dark thoughts in his heart, desperately denying his innate mastery of the dark force; Kailo was born in light, but longing to be completely dark Melt into one, and even naively tried to complete the sacrifice to the darkness in the way of killing his father, striving to stifle the growing ray of light in his heart.

Wild fire, in spring. This is true for both light and darkness. In my opinion, an important clue that runs through the trilogy is the discussion of the balance of force .

Ep7 embodies the awakening of the Force of Light and Darkness. The representatives of the two sides of Light and Darkness-Rey and Kailuo, [ While striving to enhance their own light and dark power, they will also kill the Force in the opposite direction at all costs] .

ep8 embodies the [ face up and self-doubt of the other side's force] , they found that no matter how hard they work, their own force composition is not pure: Rey discovered that the dark force has an inherently fatal attraction to herself , The dark potential emanating from her even surprised Luke, and gradually developed unspeakable emotions for Kailo who was in the opposing camp; Kailo was unable to kill his mother in air combat, although it was not superficial. I care, but I still hope that Rey will not think of herself as a complete devil. I hope she understands the truth of the Jedi Temple that night, and longs for someone to stand side by side at the top of the galaxy and create a new future in accordance with the blueprint in her heart.

ep9 is [ the fusion of light and dark] . Both Rey and Kailuo accepted the fact that light and dark coexist in their bodies, and no longer tried to kill them. Being born in darkness will no longer make Rey feel broken and at a loss. After a brief period of confusion, she accepts the birth of darkness and voluntarily chooses light. Friendship will accompany her forever. Although love and family affection are fleeting, but Forever in the heart. Kailo no longer contradicted Ben Solo, the name that had accompanied him for many years.

He plunged from the light into the darkness, and stood in the darkness to embrace the light. The sunlight shone from above his head, casting a shadow of darkness .

Don't be afraid.

I feel it too.

2. Let the past die: face the past and find yourself

Another theme of the afterword trilogy is to find oneself.

What do others think of me? What kind of person do others want me to be? What kind of person do I think I am in the eyes of others?

What kind of person do I want to become in my heart?

When all the dust has settled, only the last question is crucial. Because this question represents the awakening of the individual will, the awakening of the self. Only by recognizing yourself can you be truly fearless; only by knowing what you want can you make a choice without regrets.

Let the past die.

But has the past really perished?

sKYwalker + soLO = KYLO

The past still exists, it flows in the blood, engraved in the legend of the family.

Love and hate never die, those who desperately want to kill, but always attack again and again when they are not prepared. It was the lightsaber lit by Luke Skywalker, the remaining warmth in the palm of Han Solo’s death, the eyes hidden by Leia Organa when she looked at each other through the window in the flames of war, and she was determined to throw herself into the darkness. When a scavenger girl appeared unexpectedly.

Unkillable. Can not forget. Can't keep it. Can't bear to throw.

In my opinion, Ben Solo and Kylo Ren have always been the same person . The two names seem to be different, but in fact they are compatible with each other, like light and dark, entangled with each other, and they will never be able to tell the outcome. . Changing its name from Ben to Kailuo does not mean Ben’s demise; re-accepting Ben’s name does not mean that Kailo no longer exists.

"You have too many shadows of your father in your heart."

"You are just a boy trying to hide himself with a mask."

"You are afraid, you are afraid that you will never become Darth Vader."

"Every voice you hear since childhood is actually me. It has always been me."

Parents and uncles expect him to become a qualified Jedi, a symbol of the bright side; the girl who secretly admires him expects him to change evil and become the hope of the galaxy; Snooker expects him to become the next Vader; Emperor Palpatine expects him to give himself Bring great power. Ben Solo spends his childhood and teenage years to meet the expectations of the family. Kylo Ren spends half of his life trying to continue the dark inheritance planned by the mentor. In the end, the two end up in the same way, and they have nothing.

He was hurt, so he sowed damage in the galaxy; when he was betrayed by his mentor, he reported it with a fiercer and decisive betrayal. When the mentors on both the light and dark sides disappear from life, when the relatives who once longed to get rid of finally leave the scene one after another, all that is left in life is emptiness.

The ashes that have passed are gone and never returned. The longing is here, but far away. The powerful force looks like a gift, but in fact it is cursing; family affection and love seem to be indifferent, but in fact they are stunned.

I have never cherished it when I have it, and it is difficult to miss it when I am lost; when I make a decision, I will go my own way and toss and turn in silence.

Until the end of ep8, he was sitting on his knees at the abandoned base of the resistance organization, holding the dice left by his deceased father tightly in his hands. Only the title of the supreme leader really belonged to him. Maybe it wasn't until then that he really started to think about what he really wanted in his heart?

3. I will finish what you started: starting from love and ending with love

I will finish what you started.

"I want to finish your unfinished business."

In my opinion, this "unfinished business" has three meanings : one is to ensure that the emperor is dead; the other is to prevent the death of loved ones; and the third is to balance the force.

The origin of everything Anakin did was to protect his family and the girl he loved the most. For him, the most important thing is not the force or mission, but love and be loved. Perhaps what he desires most in Vader's heart is to bring his beloved back to life.

Emperor Palpatine is still alive, but Padmé has long since become dead bones in the mound.

Emperor Palpatine is dead, but Rey is still alive.

When the story goes to the end, light and darkness merge in confrontation, and love is reborn in the process of passing away.

I will never come again after my lover is gone
Sit silently and look out of the world
Although the flowers will wither, they will bloom again
The love of my life is faintly outside the white clouds
A sea of bitterness turns up love and hate
It's hard to escape fate in the world
Blind date can't be approached
Or I should believe it is fate
——Lu Guanting, "The Love of Life"

4. The rise of skywalker: from bondage to freedom

I have been torn apart.

I want to be rid of this pain.

In fact, tearing is the only way from bondage to freedom.

There is no death, there is the force.

Death is salvation and liberation; death is not the end, but the beginning.

The Skywalker family originated from Wei Mo, originally nobody. A powerful force is a prerequisite for the legend of Skywalker, but the force alone is not enough to cast the legend, plus personal choice. Light and darkness, love and hate, life and death, loneliness and reunion, others and self, ideals and reality. There is no right or wrong choice, only consequences.

Although the rise of Skywalker can be understood as the inheritance of master and apprentice and the rise of spirit, I am more inclined to be the awakening of personal choice. People who are born in the light can still accept darkness, and people who are born in darkness can still touch the light. What really matters is not just one surname, but who you think you are in your heart and body.

Kylo Ren was not whitewashed, let alone suddenly white. He just accepted the reality that he was not pure darkness or light. He no longer clings to becoming complete darkness, but faced the light still remaining in his heart and body. And accepted it frankly.

At the moment he died, the two names of Ben and Kailuo were finally no longer separated, and became one in the true sense.

Kailuo is dead, but he is still alive, because light and darkness will exist for a long time in the huge galaxy, because his life is still flowing in the blood of his beloved girl, roaming the world for him .

He does not need to be redeemed by others, because the redemption must come from the heart, and only he can save himself; he does not need to be washed white, because no one can become pure white; he does not need to be persuaded, because he has taken the initiative of his own will Made a choice.

He is free at last.
