The eighth wonder of the world

Before I walked into the movie theater to watch "King Kong", the online evaluation of it was basically extreme, either desperately applauding it or dismissing it as a bad movie. So I decided to say a few words of justice.

To comment on the quality of a movie, I think the first thing to do is to clarify the type of movie. "King Kong" is obviously not a literary film, let alone a romantic film. Any attempt to find a great idea or great love in it is ridiculous. I think the genre defined by Internet Movie Library is reasonable: action/adventure/science fiction/thriller. For this kind of movie, we can only ask for it to be good-looking. "King Kong" is undoubtedly good-looking. The three-hour movie dazzled the audience, sometimes holding their breath, sometimes whispering, sometimes screaming, sometimes laughing. All monsters that have appeared in the history of movies, except for aliens and vampires, seem to have appeared. "King Kong" has reached a very high level of visual effects, the scene is very magnificent, and the special effects are very good, although it is not indifferent, at least it is much better than "Promise". If anyone has to question how the heroine can survive the battle between King Kong and the dinosaurs, it can only be said to be nitpicking, because the plot of this kind of film simply cannot stand scrutiny.

After the show, I heard someone say that they want to buy a ticket and watch it again. I think this at least shows that the audience likes to watch it. This is enough. For "King Kong", we cannot ask for more.

Mainly very lengthy and there is no shortage of places to pay tribute to the old version. Several actors are well selected.

  • [after a studio executive has suggested nude film shots]

Carl Denham: What are you, an idiot? Do you think they ever asked Cecil B. DeMille if he wasted his time on nudie shots? No! They respected the filmmaker! They showed some class! Not that YOU would know what class is, you cheap lowlife!
