The End of the World and Grim Wonderland

Taking this title really has nothing to do with Haruki Murakami. Just suddenly remembered this phrase, and thought it was very appropriate for this film.

Zombie bride Emily is really a lovely girl. It wasn't so much that she fell in love with Victor, but she fell in love with love itself. Life has disappeared, the body has decayed, but love is still alive.

The moment Victor put the ring on Emily's finger that was turned into a dead twig by mistake, Emily got up from the dirt and shyly said to the terrified young man in front of him, "You can kiss your Bride.". She died with a longing for love, and she had always longed to be a beautiful bride.

The marriage of the forces in the secular world is coming: the man's family has a lot of wealth, and the woman is a declining noble lady - you provide me with money, I will fulfill your status, is it a good marriage? That's what killed Emily.

Fortunately, Victor and Victoria are truly in love, and their love has no attribution. Victoria's parents are going to marry her to someone richer, and Victor desperately decides to drink poison to end his life on earth and marry Emily. At the final wedding, Emily hesitated, she finally realized her love, and then let go, preventing Victor from committing suicide. She sent him to Victoria, and she died in the wind like a butterfly.

The whole movie is full of haze, the atmosphere is treacherous, and the tones are gloomy, but everything shines because of Emily, because her body can disappear and her spirit can perish, but her faith in pure love always endures; everything is because of Victor and Victoria's love is brilliant, because of their love, there is no attributive!

The Corpse Bride: Please, Elder Gutknecht.

Elder Gutknecht: Now, why go up there when people are dying to get down here?

Victor Van Dort: Sir, I beg you to help. It means so much to me... us.

Elder Gutknecht: I don't know. It's just not natural.

The Corpse Bride: Please, Elder Gutknecht. Surely there must be something you can do.

Elder Gutknecht: Let me see what I can do.

  • Victoria Everglot: Hildegard, what if Victor and I don't like each other?

Maudeline Everglot: Hmpf! As if that has anything to do with marriage. Do you suppose your father and I "like" each other?

Victoria Everglot: Surely you must, a little.

Maudeline EverglotFinnis Everglot: Of course not!
