Vietnamese movies, I have seen very few, a total of two and a half together! One of "Heaven and Earth", half of "Empire of Tomorrow", and the other is "The Season of Forgetfulness". The previous "Heaven and Earth" tells the story of Vietnam, but the actors are not Vietnamese. From these films, I have roughly understood such a film Vietnam: a city where luxury and dilapidation coexist, and the lingering plot and imagery of the United States. The people live in a hot and dry climate. The limit produces calmness. Beautiful mountains and beautiful water have nurtured hard-working and kind-hearted people, and it is a nation with few words.
"Loveless Season" tells three stories, and the three stories have a slight connection. Like "Chongqing Forest", the first story is related to the second story. It seems to be unrelated, and the themes are unified.
Prostitutes and pedicabs, Americans and boys, lotus pickers and lepers.
The tricycle driver carries prostitutes, the boy Woody searches for the American who thinks he has his box, and the lotus-picker guards the leper.
There are not many dialogues in the film. Does "Loveless Season" say that in such a season, what people are looking for is a piece of truth in their hearts! Fate carries too many desires, in this season, let us pay a little for the truth.
The cover of the plate says that the film's photography has won a film festival award. The lighting tone of the whole film reflects the effect of an oil painting, and most of the shots reflect the beauty of the picture. The lonely temple in the middle of the lake, the dimly lit small bar, people seem to be in and out in the oil painting, the boy Woody and his mates are playing football in the heavy rain.
"Loveless Season" can be said to be a relatively complete Vietnamese film that I have watched. In the film, I always felt that I felt all kinds of hurt emotions, the people were carrying too much burden, and there was always a feeling that I couldn't shed tears.
At night, if you have no sleep, put on a piece of this "Loveless Season".
