It's just the director's black humor

First of all, admit, watching this movie was for johnny depp, but also for Mickey Rourke (but didn't recognize him in the whole movie T_T).
So, disappointment, hope or something becomes less important.

Secondly, this movie is also, I don't think the director is imitating the style of so-and-so. Just like some deliberately imitated movies, they are not imitated for the sake of imitation, but to illustrate something (of course not specifically).
Those who are cool, who won't die no matter how they fight, etc., the camera, are all.

If you look closely, you will find that the director's handling of the details reflects humor and black humor. Even the details of a super small super cutscene are handled very humorously by the director. This is rare in other films.

If it's really just imitating someone, I don't think Johnny Depp, Antohio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Mickey Rourke (all of them can be called wrists) would be willing to take this scene at the same time. If it's because of the high salary, I don't think they need to smash their own signs for this little money. More so at the same time.

Maybe the whole movie is not a classic, and there are no impressive plots or scenes in between. However, this is by no means a superficial film, I think.

First of all, I really like this kind of black humor. Secondly, the action performance is a little more mediocre than the upper part, but the plot is too good. Finally, the music is praised. To sum up the 3 parts, 1 is just for fun, 2 is an action movie, and 3 is the pinnacle of the plot. You probably need to look at it together to find out what's inside the protagonist's heart.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico quotes

  • [a cartel soldier sees El Mariachi coming and goes for his gun, but El Mariachi gets there first and aims his shotgun]

El Mariachi: [in Spanish] What do you want in life?

[the soldier throws his gun away]

El Mariachi: [in English] Good choice.

    [knocks him unconscious]

  • Agent Sands: [after Belini finishes his story about El Mariachi] Well... that is truly unbelievable.
