The story is not as bleak as I used to know it, but made tolerable by the strength, bravery and wit of several women.
They sang in anticipation of the end of the war and reunion with their families.
In spite of being ragged and muddy and doing jobs they once looked down on, their hearts are still proud.
Refused to betray themselves for food, refused to admit trumped-up charges, they bravely followed their voices.
They still vaguely remember the taste of the fine wine they have enjoyed.
They still remember the charming clothes they once wore.
Those beautiful love episodes are enough to make them unforgettable.
Every woman has her principles, her memories, her life.
Pride, even in such difficult circumstances, continued.
That way, it's enough.
