In fact, apart from the label of cartoon, it doesn't matter whether it should be classified as musical, inspirational, comedy, adventure or drama. Such a hodgepodge that wants to express too much and instill too much has lost its most important essential color. This is an entertainment film suitable for all ages. It won't get much thinking about the outlook on life and values from Mumble's story, and no one will really reflect on the relationship between humans, animals, and nature. Not worth the loss. It's no wonder that the competition for Best Animated Feature with "Cars" at the 64th Golden Globe Awards lost.
But one last thing to mention, as an animated musical (I prefer this term), the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song is always a bit out of place for an animated film, but it deserves its name.
