I think this story is clearly about a girl struggling in a world that does not belong to her. A newcomer who just graduated from university got a job that others wanted to get crazy. The film said "a million of girls will kill for this job", but she didn't like this job. She didn't choose to resign when she was at a loss at first, because it would be too bad to do that. She has to resign after she has proven that she is doing a good job and is trusted by a female boss who is famous for her harshness. Because she already understands what she wants. This is also growth.
I think in this movie, the subtle changes in the mood of the assistant to the boss are well portrayed. Fear, admiration, hate, and understanding. The attitude towards fashion is also very wise. The same things, such as belts, mean different things to different people. It's a bit stupid to treat these things so aggressively to the new assistants; but for the female boss, this is serious work, and there is no room for carelessness. Streep's performance is very precise, coupled with the fresh and pleasant assistant, this female drama is very exciting, and it is also suitable for men.
