The absurd and far-fetched pseudo-scientific argument in "The Bell Reappears" (Text: Vulcan Ji)

Subsequent films in the "Midnight Bell" series are basically designed to completely squeeze all the potential economic benefits of the film market that the first film has opened up. So, there is obviously a chewy and tasteless feeling. In my opinion, the horror effect of this "The Reappearance of the Fierce Bells" is even far less than the first one, and the others. It may not be an exaggeration to define it as a bad movie.

The film attempts to illustrate Sadako's killing methods in a logical pseudo-scientific way. Similar to what consciousness kills, what the retina sees in the videotape, and even after the note written by the heroine of the first episode, Sadako's sense of resentment was received, so the consciousness of resentment was interpreted as a mutant virus. Such explanations and arguments are weak and absurd from any point of view. So the male protagonist's identity as a medical worker is only to strengthen the effect of this scientific reasoning, but on the other hand, it has become an argument for me to make such an inference.

At this point, the movie basically went down a path of complete failure. Because the Sadako phenomenon does not need any scientific evidence to support it, nor can it be supported by scientific evidence. This one. Second, ghost movies and science itself are already at odds with each other. And the director's madness is an attempt to use one extreme theory to explain the other extreme, such an argument can only be a useless and futile. The third is that as a horror movie audience, the director seems to have forgotten that the movie he made is for such a group: we don't care whether the movie we see can be explained scientifically and reasonably; even on the contrary , what we want to see is how something we don't fully understand is deduced in an alternative way.

We don't need a scientific argument, let alone a pseudoscience that's not completely intelligible. We want more absurd stories and more panicked screams, more fragmented and abrupt shots. And there is no doubt that this film is giving us the audience something of the opposite. As a horror film, this is undoubtedly a very unsuccessful tone. The producers' wishful thinking and painstaking arguments look boring and tedious.

In the first "Midnight Bell", Sadako, who had long hair and only one murderous pupil, turned into a hungry naked girl with boundless spring in this movie. This is kind of funny. Climbing onto the male protagonist's constantly twisting body and kissing and licking the man's neck and chin, his face is full of lewd and coquettish expressions. It seems that the resentment and grief of the first movie is gone. It turned out that Sadako's resentment wasn't because the real world couldn't hold her, or because she was pushed into a dry well by her father and struggled to death, but simply because there was no strong man waiting for her in the dry well. ridiculous! I also finally understand that if I really meet Sadako, then, students, take off your clothes and walk happily with Sadako to the other side of joy. It seems that Sadako's expression is completely a lecher rather than a ghost full of resentment.

Perhaps it was the director's sudden realization that his argument turned out to be so pale and even futile. So the movie took a nosedive and turned into a funny clip. The small part in the back always looks like a hasty ending that can't be justified. And even more pushes the original absurdity of the film to a more absurd and embarrassing situation. When Sadako's resentment became a kind of human evolutionary milestone, I can't imagine anything more irritating than such a thought. That's how the film ends. What Sadako's resentment entered the man's body through the videotape, and then entered the woman's womb through the man's sperm when he copulated with the woman, and then reborn and returned to this world. Then let the male protagonist in the first movie come out and say that there will be more and more people like Sadako, so that everyone can feel the fear of Sadako at the bottom of the well, and then talk about what to say from one The evolution of protein to a human body, and then to the evolution of the virus carried by Sadako's resentment to human beings. NND. Forgive me, even if I kill me, I can't believe such a ridiculous thing. Perhaps, pseudoscience should be completely pseudoscience to the end.

But relatively speaking, I prefer the latter absurd fragments to the former deliberate and far-fetched reasoning. After all, the absurdity of the second half can be regarded as a complete abandonment of pseudoscience. Because the pseudoscience itself can't be fake anymore. Leave science behind. This is the most basic basis for a ghost movie. Because the subject matter of ghost films has no way to stand up to scientific arguments, so don't try to use science to explain all this, but only by completely abandoning science can we unswervingly believe that the film gives us all this told. And only films that make us believe can be considered successful films. Don't you see, all ghost movies that are intended to be explained by science end up without ghosts, they are all human, or the human heart itself is at work. Therefore, either completely abandon science, or completely turn to science, because science will never accept plausible compromises.

Of course, I am not saying that the latter statement is acceptable to me. In fact, the latter statement is more difficult to accept than the former statement. More absurd and shameless argument. But, I like it, because the science is completely abandoned, even if the result is wrong, but the direction is correct. As an aside, I found that the heroine's coquettish appearance is much more beautiful than her simple appearance. Perhaps, a woman should not contain implication, a woman who blooms is more beautiful. However, it was precisely because of this digression that I suddenly discovered that, perhaps, Sadako's ferocious and frightening appearance turned into a sex-hungry female cat and kept sulking, perhaps trying to tell us this truth. ashamed. Forgive my shameless thinking. But, what else can I say about such a bad movie?
