This version of the Hulk can feel a sense of horror from the weird soundtrack at the beginning of the film. And many places have been using this music. Probably Ang Lee thinks that this can play a role in highlighting that Banner is in a dangerous environment, and it is easy to arouse the interest of the audience. In addition to this common soundtrack, the most impressive thing is that after turning into the Hulk in the middle, Banner galloped on the Gobi Desert, and there appeared a wild and wild background music similar to the primitive tribe. It is a side description of the great pleasure of Banner's inner release.
The main thing the film wants to express is some kind of involuntary fate of the Hulk. His growth path was changed early from his father's injection of a test product before birth. And his life became fragmented and chaotic when he was exposed to excessive gamma rays in order to protect his lab mates. As for love, there are only a few clips of him and the heroine flashing in the movie, and the words are vague, and the audience can't clearly know what happened to him and Betty, and why they weren't together. Moreover, the relationship between Betty and her father also passed by without explaining clearly, which made a lot of loopholes in the logic of the film.
Of course, for the entanglement between Hulk and his father, Ang Lee spent a lot of space to narrate. The director still wants to introduce the oriental family concept into the comic hero story. Therefore, this version of the Hulk has become an alternative to many comic books.
What's more unfortunate about the movie is the special effects part. Originally, the most important thing in super-English films is the CG effect. But I don't know if it is due to cost constraints or other reasons. In most of the shots where the Hulk appears, it is obvious that it does not integrate with the surrounding background. Undoubtedly, this greatly reduces the audience's sense of substitution.
The easter egg at the end shows that the film company intends to shoot a sequel. However, as everyone knows, this version of the Hulk stopped there, and there was no more. After a few years, the MCU is booming, but it is very different from director Ang Lee's attempt to interpret superheroes in depth. It must be said that it is a pity.
