The unhappy life, being nagged and disgusted by his wife, and despised by his mother and brothers, the process of the end of the bottom-level men is shown coldly in the film. The male protagonist Hans used to be a policeman. Once Hans was found by colleagues in the police office with a prostitute and was fired. Forced to make a living, he became a low-status fruit vendor. His dignity is getting lower and lower under the disgust and contempt of his family. He used alcohol to drown his sorrows with his friends and abused his wife. The wife left him angrily with her daughter and filed for divorce. Hans suffered a heart attack and fainted. Just when Hans was taken to the hospital, his wife had a relationship with the male neighbor, which was a form of revenge and a vent. In the first half of the film, Hans's work and family chaotic life are presented coldly, and this process makes Hans's heart gradually despair. He was looked down upon by his family, his mother and younger brother were very contemptuous of his identity as a street vendor, and he always lived in an inferiority complex. Hans, who escaped death, was told not to do heavy work and not to drink. Just like that, his spirit began to collapse. His wife's lover took the initiative to be invited to become an employee of Hans' fruit stand. His wife harmed her lover by any means, resulting in the lover's dismissal. Hans also seemed to have discovered his wife's adultery. Hans proposed to his lover but was rejected. He took in Zeng Jin's comrade-in-arms to work for him, but found that his comrade-in-arms gradually replaced him as a husband and father. Hans became increasingly depressed and gloomy, and he found himself dispensable. At the family dinner table he felt the contempt of his family again. He ended his humble life by drinking a few glasses of wine in front of his friends and wife. After the funeral, the wife calmly expressed her willingness to rebuild a family with Hans' comrades-in-arms. From beginning to end, all characters are abnormally lacking in human feelings, cold, selfish, and arrogant. All relationships are not normal, everything stems from status and dignity. This is a movie dedicated to Fassbender, showing you the dark side of human nature in reality. This weird, icy sense of desperation runs through. Fassbender, the ruthless fellow, will never give hope.
