The former rock singer and guitarist Dewey (played by Jack Black, who dubs Kung Fu Panda and also looks like a panda) reaches middle age and has nothing but the dream of a rock star. He is a pure loser. His friend Ned's family has been eating and drinking for many years, and Ned and his girlfriend have long been unable to bear him.
On this day, the bad-tempered Dewey was kicked out of the house again by a band, and when he returned to the apartment, Ned and his girlfriend gave him an ultimatum: either pay the rent or leave immediately.
