Fear In The Hole

Today's European and American horror films, or thrillers (although some are not so "thriller", but rather funny), have formed a very stylized fixed type, that is: one (or a family, such as "Thousand Corpse") House"; or a bunch, such as "Human Skin Inn") perverted comrades + a few muscular men + a few busty women + a pure female/male (often survivors, it can be seen that the values of Western capitalist society still do not exist corrupt to the extreme).
There are "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "American Psycho" far away, and "Wax Museum of Horror" and "Humanskin Inn" are the same. I call this "Chainsaw Aftermath". Recently, this wind has a tendency to blow all over the world, such as "Wolf Creek" in Australia. These kinds of movies are movies that don't need to watch the beginning to know the ending. What the audience needs to see is the amount of red paint in the movie and the question of how to die, such as "Oh, it turns out that this baby was opened."
Therefore, the "sequelae" film was almost numb, and in addition to satisfying his inner bloodthirsty desire, he often found nothing after watching it. At this time, the appearance of "Descent" is very suitable.
The feeling of the whole film is two words: depression. From the heroine's inner grief after the loss of her husband to the difficult journey in the dark hole, this point is highlighted from perspective and psychology (of course, it is still worse than the masterpiece "Seven Deadly Sins"). The sudden bloody scene at the beginning of the film, the completely natural exploration process in the middle, and the mess at the end of the killing, well outlined the characters of the six girls. In fact, I have always liked this theme of exploring the unknown world and unknown life forms, such as "X-File". Cave exploration is undoubtedly an excellent element to combine with horror movies. Just imagine that six girls are thousands of meters underground, without enough food and equipment, and facing the existence of unknown creatures, it is really chilling. And the photo of the party of six reappeared in the final ending just brought the atmosphere to the highest point.
Of course, there are still many shortcomings, such as: the description of the fight with the natural environment is still a little less than the fighting scenes of those monsters. This is also to cater to the tastes of the majority of audiences suffering from "chainsaw sequelae". Radish and greens, everyone still loves half-cooked steak with bloodshots. In addition, there is no detailed account of the origins of those strange creatures and the tools left in the cave before. I hope that if there is a sequel, I can do some articles.
In short, this film is not necessarily that good, but there are more dwarfs, so naturally they are taller. In fact, it's strange. Horror movies are often good ones that don't sell well, and bad ones that are popular (the "Lamb" and "The Sixth Sense" are well-received and well-received. I'm afraid this and good horror movies both focus on what is really scary in human nature, such as Uncle Ku's dismal "The Shining" at the box office, while a bad horror movie just comes with some handsome men and women and thousands of gallons of red syrup. Now, the mainstream audience of such films are mostly young people. Who has the spare time to listen to the director's lectures? Might as well hack and slash all the way down.
