Sans raison, sans amour.

After watching this movie, I realized that the director is Løve, the director of "Something in the Future". I love her so much, so much.

This movie actually confirms my long-standing view that the love we think of is not real love. In other words, there is no true love, only attachmentment. Perhaps translated as "attachment".

This is a very clean movie, in a love story, the director retains the sexual element, but only shows the attachment part, not the sex itself. In the first half of the movie, two fifteen-year-olds talk about "love" and "no love", which is so simple that people miss it. Some sentences may seem heavy, like "I can't live without you," but that's really how much attachment is at age 15.

The whole movie hardly uses subjective shots to show the way his lover looks in his eyes. Everything flows through the screen like water without making any sound. We see Sullivan leave, Camille's pain fades over time, she starts with another man, she quietly betrays the relationship for Sullivan. But we never see "love". Only at that moment, when Sullivan came back, they went out for a tryst at night, and when they parted downstairs at Camille's boyfriend's house, she clearly wanted to kiss the boy in front of her. It's very similar to the lyric in "Prudence": "My affection is so easily revealed in my eyes." But he said, go, go back to your architect.

She said she didn't know why, and never stopped loving Sullivan for a second. An inexplicable attachment that never goes away. It's like the phantom in the eyes of a child after seeing the fireworks. Every time he sees it again, his heart sinks, and the words "beautiful", "eternal", "unobtainable" and "disappearing" appear in an instant. But this is not love, it is a thought that wants to be pressed into the heart but can never be grasped.

The more I watched the movie, the more sad it became. Seeing Camille cut her hair short and grow it long, then quietly with another man, pushed by the day. But as soon as you close your eyes, Sullivan will definitely appear in front of you. Until the end, she had to wade into the water to retrieve the straw hat he gave her. What does the man in front of her mean to her? They were always at odds and the man was always saying bon, bon...he wouldn't argue with Camille over a movie like Sullivan and Camille wouldn't say childish things about his departure. Is this love? Maybe it's just two people who have similar smells living together. The film does not show the man's past, but only mentions that he is preparing for a divorce. But everyone's past determines his present, and the reflection of fireworks still remains on his retina. It's really rare to be in a relationship purely. So two people with different memories lived together peacefully, c'est tout simple.

There are many interesting little bridges in the movie, such as the process of architects in class; Camille's mother, who left her husband and was comfortable at home. And finally saw her daughter crying for Sullivan and said impatiently, why is it still him? And Camille's dad, a gentle, quiet man who now looks a bit like Camille's architect boyfriend. In addition, there are crowded pubs in Paris, cinemas at night, the banks of the Seine... All these make me miss Paris madly. This is my attachment to this city.

Regarding the film itself, this is a film that is difficult to analyze. Everything goes so naturally, it would be a blasphemy to even analyze it. This is the temperament that a French film should have, and it is also the reason why I studied film in France. Because life itself is like this, and then the ups and downs of the plot, such as the departure of the first love, miscarriage, derailment... When you are in it, it is like a low point in the center of the storm, all emotions and changes will gradually follow the day. past. Watching such a long love story for two hours in an afternoon is like looking back. I feel a little dazed and lonely in my heart, but there is also a kind of beauty spontaneously born from these images. The charm of French cinema can be seen here.
