SCORE - This documentary about film scores
Even though the soundtrack has long been recognized as a foil and serving the picture, the soundtrack is as important as the movie itself. The soundtrack is the composer's understanding and re-creation of the script and the director's intentions, and enables people to extend the perception of the movie picture. Many times, the memories of some plots and episodes are actually due to hearing specific tunes, such as hearing Concerning Hobbits and thinking of Shire, hearing Harry's Wondrous World thinking of Harry Potter and his episode in Diagon Alley, listening to To the Star Wars theme song... Well, you already know that it is Star Wars.... It is only now that you know the history of movie music, and the composers who have made a milestone in this history and contributed to this history. , I know from the silent film to the soundtrack with the pipe organ, to some string music to the later era after the synthesizer.
In fact, this documentary seems to briefly mention the history of the film's music, together with an introduction to the process of soundtracking. (mainly clips of interview videos of some well-known composers, brief introductions of some well-known STUDIOs (such as ABBEY ROAD STUDIO) and videos of some of the soundtracks. It is absolutely enough for a very superficial understanding. The deeper stuff will have to wait until I finish reading those books (and learn music theory) before I know...
All in all, it's a pretty good entry-level documentary!
