If you don't look to the end seriously, probably few people will think this is a good movie.
Oliver Stone belongs to the early '90s, and his Alex is different from the blockbuster we imagine. While watching, it always reminds me of "Field Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July". The Vietnam War was deeply imprinted in his mind, so the hero Alexander became a metaphor for the country and the director himself. It is these director's own things that let me see surprises and see a struggling Alexander. GO HOME, GO HOME, is the plot of the Greek hero story in Homer's epic, and the director's beautiful memory of the American innocence era.
I watched it at home, it would be better if it was in the cinema, because it allows me to concentrate. It is a pity that the era of video discs makes us rarely step into the cinema, and movies are more and more suitable for the needs of the era of video discs - simple, beautiful, exciting. The spirit of the movie is no longer important, and the dream of the movie is gradually passing away.
GO HOME is the hope of returning to the movie's own home.
