I saw this movie a few years ago, and I have never seen a war movie before or after that left me with such a deep feeling - the sadness has been choked there and you can't cry. It's true, I didn't shed a single tear after watching the entire film. I was stuck in this mood for a long time after that. Perhaps it is because the sadness is too deep that I am moved too long.
I still remember some images - when the air strikes came, all the people gave up money, food and houses, just wanted to run for their lives quickly. On the other hand, the emaciated Seita carried the weaker sister Setsuko on her back and shuttled in the opposite direction to the people. He jumped into empty dwellings, looking for food and supplies. The adults were so exhausted that they had no time to take care of them, so Qingta found a lot of useful things. When another round of air strikes came, Seita raised his head to look at the planes flying over and said, "Throw more bombs down!"
The cruelty of a child.
They do not know the meaning of war, but they know the reality of war. They are ignorant of the world and lose their protection, so they can only try to survive in this world in their own way. When he said that, I had no way to hate him, because I knew that he was the biggest victim of the war.
In the end, both died. It feels like their lives are like insignificant dust, coming and going silently, leaving no memory or impact.
Only we remember...
