"Seven Neuropathies" by Martin MacDonald! Since watching "Underground" ("Underground" is also a magic movie!) "Six Bullets Pistol", I was very fascinated by Martin's ramble black comedy style and unique perspective on showing things, until I saw "Seven Neuropathies". ", MacDonald has successfully become my third favorite director after Kubrick and Polanski.

1. "Seven Neuropathies" adopts a typical "meta-narrative" structure, that is, the creative process of the exposed script is regarded as the content of the film itself. Similar "meta-cinema" narratives can be traced back to "The Man with the Camera" by "Cine Eyes" Vertov in 1929, and Federico Fellini's 1963 film "Eight and a Half". One", which completes the film itself by expressing the various encounters of a director when his creative mind is exhausted.

2. At the same time, the play itself is rich in layers: three layers of space: the real space, the story space, and the screenwriter's idea space. The impact of the story on the screenwriter, the impact of reality on the screenwriter, the impact of the story and the screenwriter on the reality... The virtual and the real are mixed with each other without being rigid. This film is a typical example of multi-line narratives that help clarify ideas and tell the story.

3. The theme is ambitious and the characters are representative. Fighting Violence by Following Violent Thoughts: Can Revenge Give Violence Absolute Legitimacy? Each of the three protagonists represents an attitude towards revenge.

Billy has no scruples and has long lost his positive thoughts and confidence in life. He is a jerk and interesting. He is a pessimist of revenge, and the only "pervert" who has no revenge mission.

Marty is just a recorder, a person who ties the story together throughout the film, an ordinary person who is steadfast and kind-hearted by "morality" and "ideology".

The Cutthroat Old Man Hans is a devout Christian and a member of the "pervert". He almost doubted his beliefs because of psychedelics. The Cutthroat Man and the Vietnamese monk story he made up are the only ones who have penetrated the construction of revenge and tolerance. A person who became the Tower of Enlightenment.

4. Seven neuroses, after reading you will find that the screenwriter and director is the eighth, and you are the ninth.....

Seven Psychopaths quotes

  • Myra: Do you ever worry we was wrong all those years, and there ain't no heaven and there ain't no nothing?

Hans: Of course, I worry God loves us. I know He does. He's just got a funny way of showing it sometimes.

Myra: Sometimes I think God's gone crazy sometimes. Stuff He does, stuff He don't do.

Hans: Well, He's had a lot to contend with in his time, too, you know. Bastards killed His kid, too.

    Myra: Don't say "bastards", honey.

Myra: It's just a word, Myra.

  • Billy: What the hell happened?

Marty: Some punks jumped us. Said they were looking for a little shih tzu. Then some other punk killed those punks.

Billy: I've only been gone 10 fucking minutes!
