Melorie said to Mickey, let's get out of here and we'll be full of bullet holes and we'll die and we'll be free. Maybe they're just asking for freedom, freedom from a twisted parent is freedom, escape from a violent prison is freedom, in the same way, killing and being killed may be giving freedom to others and self, and the best way to be free may be to escape the world .
The film is interspersed with a lot of natural scenes: hares are running, mantises are chewing, seeds are breaking ground, flowers are withering, and with the rhythm of the ending song, Mickey is stroking Melally's bloated belly. Perhaps the director is secretly conveying the affirmation of real life, no matter how distorted human nature is, nature is still the same, perhaps, human beings should repent the most.
It's a peculiar movie, with a crazy plot and freewheeling expression, and Oliver Stone is clearly looking for his own freedom, and he's doing it well, for sure.
