On Wu Yanzu's acting skills from "New Police Story"

To be honest, I don't see many of Azu's movies, including the trilogy "Eavesdropping", "Shinjuku Incident" and "The King of Guns", plus this one. But Azu's performance in "New Police Story" was a blast, and he won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 41st Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards for this role. Therefore, people still have strength, not just relying on a face. But, Daniel Wu is really handsome. For our audience, he doesn't need any acting skills at all. As long as Daniel Wu goes to that stop, it will be pleasing to the eyes. What is commendable is that he still has good business ability, alas, people are more popular than people.

In the opening scene, a group of playboys are sitting on the top floor of the building ready to rob a bank. The other four shouted with laughter, only Azu had a face full of anger and raised his arms, as if he was venting something, and seemed to want to prove something. This obviously inconsistent expression with his teammates laid the groundwork for the later disclosure of his discord with his parents:

Then there was a confrontation with the police and a shootout. A police officer was shot and sat on the ground clutching his wounds, desperate and frightened, and kept firing. The kind of desperate, reckless joke that Azu sticks his head out and makes faces is completely incomparable. With such a cynical attitude, Azu played the hatred for the police into the woods.

Below is the split scene. The loot money of the playboys was calculated based on their points, but they almost quarreled about the point deduction. Azu closed his eyes at this time (attention) and said:

Then he opened his eyes and said to the woman next to him:

Is it so important to open and close your eyes? have! Azu said "money is not important", why, as a robber, isn't the robbery for money? Because his family is rich - uh... this reason seems impeccable... Of course, this is only the surface reason, the deeper reason is because he hates his father who is a policeman (as to why, I will show later). He was immersed in the thrill of killing the police, so he just felt noisy in the face of the uneven distribution of the loot. He closed his eyes for the sake of tranquility and to enjoy the pleasure. What's more terrifying is that he still maintains his sense of reason. He understands that it is good luck that he didn't get caught this time. Next time, he will not allow the possibility of being caught.

Then, the police immediately issued a relevant statement, Jackie Chan said that they had confidence in catching the gangsters within three hours. Pay attention to the change in Zu's expression. First, I wanted to know the official meaning of the police, and looked at the TV playfully (God! This perfect side face...):

After hearing what Jackie Chan said, his expression immediately became angry and serious: Caught us in three hours? Bring to justice? Why are you, how old are you? On the one hand, this expression is a disgust for the police, and on the other hand, it ignites his desire to fight. He wants to prove that he is right, but the police are just a bunch of incompetent people:

Having obtained the police's action plan in advance, the playboys took the lead step by step, and finally tied everyone except Jackie Chan to the top of the warehouse. When Jackie Chan asked who they were, Azu replied, "I hate you guys who are police officers." Then he flew down the rope and asked Jackie Chan to put down his gun:

This sentence was spoken in a soft tone, but it was full of ridicule. Azu laughed at the incompetence of the police, laughing at their inability to defeat him after all. The cat naturally ignored the mouse that could not escape. The following sentence is tough, because Jackie Chan is still holding a gun. He hates that he has no control over the police, so both the wording and the tone are very strong:

Next is the foundation of the lines. Azu knew that he was winning and that the police had already suffered a crushing defeat. Since he was going to destroy the police, what should he do now and shoot him to death? That was too cheap for him. Torture him slowly with torture? Physical pain doesn't seem so unbearable. However, aren't the police the most loyal, so let him bear the psychological guilt, let his subordinates die in front of him one by one, and the most important point is to let him know that these subordinates are all because of him. . He said he wanted to compete with him, because Azu knew that under the pressure of so many lives, it was impossible for Jackie Chan to win. Please pay attention to how Azu speaks his lines. " I want to play with you ", slowly, without obvious pause, that is, after thinking about the countermeasures in advance, at this time, step by step according to the plan, calm and playful. " You seem to be the shooting champion of the (pause) police force (longer pause), don't you? " The first pause expressed a contempt for the title mentioned later, and deliberately used "as if" to indicate that Azu had this title. Disdain; there is a longer pause in "the police force" to stress that because of his hatred of the police force, the police force's title makes him even more determined to humiliate him.

Seeing the look of confusion on Jackie Chan's face, Azu's wicked smile was really proud:

He raised his gun at Big Brother Jackie Chan, still smug, he liked the feeling of humiliating the police:

Are the following lines completely mocking, insulting, and sneering at him - "Aren't you amazing, you said that you caught us within three hours, and you are far from your performance on TV":

Afterwards, Azu asked Jackie Chan to kneel and kowtow. Pay attention to Azu's expression. When he asks him to kneel, he has a domineering look on his face, which shows his respect for his status compared with the police. And when he asked Jackie Chan to kowtow, he covered his stomach with his hands and laughed from ear to ear, because he knew that he had won and won the hated policeman, and he was proud of himself:

Of course, Jackie Chan's performance in this scene is also commendable. At first, he was confident when facing the gangsters, but later he couldn't catch anyone but felt puzzled by being played with applause. All his men were hung up and followed one by one. The despair when he was put down and fell to his death, and he was distracted by hearing the moans of his teammates during the battle. Such a wonderful match.

In the morning, I heard my parents quarreling between half-asleep and half-asleep, and their very annoyed expressions indicated that they often did this:

Hearing them arguing, he mentioned himself, and kept saying that he was a waste, and the disgust in his eyes was about to come out:

Then my father came in and beat himself with a pillow, still scolding himself for being trash, but Azu didn't show any expression, because he was numb to it:

Watching his father's speech on TV, unstoppable anger appeared on his numb face. The images of being beaten with handcuffs when I was a child flashed through my mind one by one, Azu must be extremely angry, why did I have to suffer this humiliation. So it makes sense why he hated the police so much. He hated his father, who happened to be a policeman. He wants to escape his father's control, he wants revenge, he wants to prove that he is not a waste, so those policemen are just a code name, the devil who has persecuted him since childhood. He must put it to death.

Back at the base, Azu shot frantically at the police model, with a ferocious expression on his face, desperate to vent, his hatred for his father (the police) deepened:

The next highlight is that Azu handed the time bomb to Jackie Chan's girlfriend. When Azu told her in detail, his face was calm, because he knew that the police were being played with by him again. As I said, it's my game, and of course I'm in charge. So naturally, watching a play is not afraid of the height of the stage, and watching the fun is not afraid of big things:

After Jackie Chan and Nicholas Tse were locked in, Azu and his party came to "visit the prison". Azu told Jackie Chan about the plan to rob without hesitation. It's a taboo to reveal the plan in advance, but he knows that Jackie Chan is helpless - just like Jordan in his later years, even if he told his opponent what moves he would do, the opponent still couldn't guard against him, and could only watch the helper throw the ball in. ——Pay attention to Azu's indifferent expression and relaxed tone, showing him so full of the pleasure of watching the police collapse:

During the robbery, the police called their parents. So one of them, Max, abandoned his weapon and escaped. The other teammates were telling him to come back quickly, but Azu first shook his head, then pursed his lips, raised his gun, bang! Fall in response:

His teammates were stunned. They didn't expect that Azu would hate him so much that he even killed his own people. They thought they were partners and teammates. But Azu, he doesn't care about his teammates, he doesn't need a partner, and he doesn't have a partner either. He is not like the rest of the team who are hungry and have nothing to do. He robs and kills the police, all to vent the feeling of oppression in his heart that he has been oppressed for more than ten years. He wants to resist, he wants to prove his own omnipotent. Since you can't be used by me, then kill you, friendship? What is that, I don't care.

Next is the climax of the whole play. The most exciting part is the confrontation between Jackie Chan and Azu on the rooftop.

First, Nicholas Tse was tied to a rope and hung up, wearing a mask and smiling wickedly. At this time, he still firmly believed that he had the initiative:

Jackie Chan held a gun, Azu asked him not to move, but the older brother couldn't rest assured Nicholas Tse, and then walked forward. So Azu released the rope under his feet and let Nicholas Tse fall. Afterwards, his face was full of anger, and he raised his finger and pointed at the elder brother, showing a look like "now I have the final say, what kind of thing are you a police officer". Big brother was in a hurry and had to put down the gun. Two actions still interpret the initiative:

The moment I took off the mask, I really bent. Bright as a jade tree in front of the wind, it's so fucking handsome. Prosperity Beauty:

Pay attention to the next scene. Azu said, "If I'm going to die, at least you two stinky policemen will accompany me." First, he frowned, looking a little bitter. Why is this so. Before, Azu never thought that he would go to a dead end, nor did he believe that he would go to a dead end, so when he talked about the situation he least wanted to happen (lose, death), he was full of unwillingness and hatred:

Then his expression immediately changed to determination, because Azu still didn't want to believe it, he felt that he would win like a dead man:

Then, Jackie Chan said, "Azu, it's not the police that you hate, you hate your father, you hate yourself." For the first time, he was told what was on his mind. It was also the first time that Azu lost his mind, roaring and roaring. How much he wants to prove that he is not a waste, how much he wants to gain a sense of power in front of the police; how much he hates his father, how much he wants to express himself. Note the following expressions of Azusa:

I was told what was on my mind, mixed feelings

The lips are bent, and I would rather die than believe that the creed that I have persisted for so long is about to collapse

Eyes wide and mouth open, roaring angrily, not allowed to be exposed by what he said, but trying to hide it

Pouting and gasping for breath, unwillingness is written all over the face

He closed his eyes and kept shaking his head, covering his face with his hands, perfectly interpreting the fact that it was difficult to accept what Jackie Chan said.

In the end, the hideous face screamed hysterically. At this moment, he still did not believe that he would lose.

When the game is decided, the facial features are all gathered, indicating that Azu's last struggle

In the following line, almost every word of Azu is roared out, with a tone that is almost broken, and a look of anger, which expresses the feeling of the end of the road too deeply:

Before the competition, he understood that he needed to be calm at this time, so Azu held his head high and opened his mouth to breathe:

Once Azu entered the game mode, he was full of confidence:

bent bent

The next moment is a miracle:

Confidence before the start of the competition

At the beginning, he smiled like he had already won, thinking that defeating this former defeat would be a piece of cake

Then I saw that Jackie Chan's method of assembling guns was different from last time, and he was very skilled, and his expression changed immediately: How is it possible?

Later, I felt that my eldest brother seemed to be better than me, and his brows furrowed even deeper.

Finally, facing the gun raised by the elder brother, he raised his head suddenly, with a look of shock, disbelief, and panic.

In just ten seconds, Azu vividly presented what it means to go from heaven to hell with several expressions. The self-confidence at the beginning, the unease and panic that followed, and those who lost the game couldn't believe it. With only ten seconds, the Golden Horse Award is well deserved.

In the face of my father's yelling and the fact that I lost, tears rolled in my eyes involuntarily, my shoulders sank, showing a deep sense of powerlessness:

In the end, he accepted the fact. He lost more than the game, he lost his father, he lost himself, he lost his life. So Azu was desperate, disheartened, utterly depressed, and extremely sad. He understands that this life is really over, that he is really a waste, and he will lose. So I cried with snot and tears, which made people feel moved:

Then, bang! The gunshots sounded, and Azu died. The story ends.

Very perfect and complete acting skills, plus this prosperous beauty, the three words "Wu Yanzu" are enough.
