The perfection of morality lies in spending every day as the last day of life. --"Meditations"

I recently watched a movie called About time and its Chinese translation is "Time Space Love Traveler". Some people simply think it is a romance movie or a science fiction movie, but I think this is a wonderful story about love, about time, and about life. There are both beautiful love, warm family affection, and Intriguing time travel.

The theme of the film is a philosophical question-if you only have one day to live, what would you do?

When Tim was 21, his father told him an amazing secret: The men in their family have the super power of time travel and can go back to their past. This is how the wonderful story unfolds. Although Tim cannot change history, he can use his superpowers to change the little things that have happened and will happen. After knowing the secret of time travel, Tim successfully met his future wife, and finally married his wife smoothly, and later had their baby. But even with the super power of time travel, it cannot stop the pace of time. From birth to death, this is the inevitable law of life development. After Tim had two children, it happened unfortunately. Tim’s father suffered from cancer. While he was dying, he told Tim another bigger secret, which was the true meaning of life.

Due to the limitations of time travel, if you return to the current time point before the birth of a new life, the new life will be reshaped, which means that the combination of sperm and egg is random, and time travel does not guarantee a new life. Will be saved. When Tim’s first child was born, in order to help his sister who was in a car accident avoid the disaster, he returned to the time before the child was born. When he came back, he found that his child turned from a girl to a boy. Leaving his child behind, he had to return to the past point in time and gave up helping his sister out of danger.

The most touching part of the film is at the end. After his father’s death, Tim’s wife Mary planned to have another child. This put Tim in a dilemma. If he wanted to usher in a new life, he had to say goodbye to his father, because after the child was born, he could not He went down to see his father on the premise of dropping the child. After a bitter thought contest, he finally made the hardest decision in his life-he agreed to Mary.

Just before the birth of the third child, Tim once again embarked on the path of time travel. He came to his father and played the last table tennis match with his father. Before that, no one knew how much they had played. Table tennis match. The last time the father finally won his son, when the father asked Tim what prize he would get, Tim gave him a kiss.

After learning that this was the last time the father and son met, the father proposed to go back to the more distant past with his son and go for a walk on the beach that used to be. This parting is a farewell.

In a graduation speech in 2005, Jobs once said: "If you live every day as the last day of your life, then one day you will find that you are right." We all desire to have it. The super power of time travel, but in fact nothing can stop time, nothing is immortal. Every day of our life, whether it is glorious, boring, or sad, when the sun rises the next day, everything will be in the past, and what we have will be a brand new day.

In fact, every day of our lives is to travel in time, and the only thing we can do is to cherish this wonderful journey as much as we can. I once read a poem that listed many small things about time: New York time is three hours earlier than California time, but California time has not slowed down; some people graduated at the age of 22, but waited five years to find Got a good job; someone became a CEO at the age of 25, but died at the age of 50... Some people around them seem to be walking in front of us, and some people seem to be walking behind us, but in fact everyone We have our own "time zone". Everything will be on time in the "time zone" that our destiny arranges for us. Therefore, we don't have to expect to be able to return to the past or imagine that we can foresee the future. The life in front of us is the best life.

Life is not about big moments, but about what's in-between.

It's all about the time, we are all time travelers.

About Time quotes

  • [Tim and Mary are in bed]

Mary: So not such a bad day after all?

Tim: No. It was pretty good, really. Very good day, actually, as it turns out.

Mary: Well, that's a relief. Because it had been a very bad day, I thought I might have had to have had sex with you to make up for it.

    [she turns the light out]

    Mary: Goodnight.

Tim: [he is lying blatantly and Mary knows it] It was a very, very bad day. It went very badly. I got fired from my job. And then I killed a man.

[she turns the light back on]

Mary: That is a very bad day.

    Tim: It's terrible.

Mary: Yeah, the worst day ever. I'm so sorry.

    [they start to make love]

  • [Mary wants another baby]

Mary: I just thought that maybe it was time for the insurance baby.

    Tim: What?

Mary: In case one of them is really smart. We don't want the other one to feel stupid their whole life. And if we had a third one then we could have *two* happy dummies. What do you think?

[Tim realises that once another baby is born, he will never be able to go back to a time before that]

Tim: [voiceover] It was the toughest decision of my life. Saying "yes" to the future meant saying "goodbye" to my dad - forever.
