" The Umbrella Academy " is a new series produced by Netflix, and all 10 episodes of the first season have been released at one time. It's based on the hit Eisner Award-winning comic book and graphic novel, written and written by Gerard Way ("My Chemical Romance"), illustrated by Gabriel Ba, and published by Dark Horse Comics.

The comics are set in a history where Kennedy was never assassinated, and the series made "cosmetic" adaptations of the original during filming. Therefore, even readers who have read the original comics, it is still difficult to make accurate predictions about the follow-up development of the series.

To be honest, I didn't have much hope for "The Umbrella Academy" before watching it. After all, Marvel has made superheroes into series, in addition, there are a lot of superpower-themed dramas that have not been seen in the list, such as "Large Group", "Super Sense Hunting", "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Wait. But milk flying is milk flying. After "Kingdom", I finished "Umbrella Academy" in one breath.

Like the Marvel Universe and DC Universe, Dark Horse Comics creates an alternate universe in a parallel universe. In form , it is somewhat similar to "X-Men" , except that the former mainly focuses on the relationship between teachers, students and classmates; while in "Umbrella Academy", it emphasizes the relationship between family and relatives.

Some viewers called it "a family ethics drama in a superhero coat", mainly because "Umbrella Academy" explored the love and killing of brothers and sisters in a big family and the growth of children in a patriarchal family . I can't agree more with this view.

Whatever, let's take a look at the basic plot first.

At 12 noon on October 1, 1989, forty-three pure single girls gave birth to babies without any previous signs of pregnancy . Billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreaves (Croom Feore) came forward to adopt seven of them, after which he established the Umbrella Academy and claimed that he would train children to save world.

In years of training and trials, six of the children showed their super power, but only No.7 had no ability at all. She lives in the shadow of her excellent older siblings, consciously or unintentionally isolated from the mission of the Umbrella Academy. With the disappearance of No.5 and the death of No.6, the family members left the academy one after another, and only No.1 stayed with the Jazz.

The news of the death of their father, Sir Hargreaves, was suddenly broadcast on the news one day, and the children who were still alive returned home one after another for the funeral. On the day of the funeral, No.5, who had disappeared for many years because of the time jump, also returned from the future with the shocking news that "the world will perish in eight days" .

Several people suddenly realize that they are the only ones who can stop this from happening, and it is Hazel (Cameron Bryton) and Cha Cha (Mary Blige) who stand in their way . The two of them are time assassins sent by No.5's former employer Time Administration, and they need to kill No.5 to protect the original timeline.

Things got a little complicated. Through No.5's constant attempts (he even made time and space go backwards by rewriting time) and the various actions of everyone (pig teammates), they finally realized that the root cause of the end of the world was their seventh sister. Everyone was ready to kill her with deadly superpowers, but they were defeated by the overwhelming power of the opponent.

Only No.3 touched the back of No.7 and held the gun against the back of the opponent's head, but he didn't have the heart to shoot her, but put a shot in her ear. No.7, who was extremely sensitive to sound, fell down when she heard the gunshots. Her powerful force that was going to destroy the earth was concentrated and launched onto the moon.

The doomsday came on schedule, and to some extent it was just a few of them that made it happen.
