The friendship between the soldiers and the details of many wars shown in the film are unforgettable.
Here are the ones that impressed me the most:
1. Steiner's never-ending smile on his face. Makes people feel very "assured", I mean as his comrade-in-arms.
2. Steiner likes to use Soviet submachine guns, the kind with reel-type magazines. Surprised me. I think this should be the director's intentional performance. I also remembered that I heard the legend that the US military liked to use Kalashnikov submachine guns in the Vietnam War. It seems that the performance of Soviet guns is not covered.
3. When crossing the bridge, the "Nazi party member" picked a flower and put it in his pocket. This detail got me thinking a lot. This character is undoubtedly despised by the film. But, he is also a person. It should be remembered that demons, in most cases, also show the other side. But it doesn't change its demonic nature.
4. At the end of the film, Steiner forgives the officer's actions and leads him into the fight, laughing at the officer's clumsiness as he shoots. Simply "cool". Made me see the fascinating side of war.
All in all, I really liked this movie and highly recommend it to everyone. Of course, there is a chance.
