I am writing to you in the south

You read that right, Vigo Mortensen, the star of "Green Book", is the king of Aragorn who picked up the sword of kings in Middle-earth.

And now, Tony, played by Vigo Mortensen, drove the 1962 Cadillac Sedan De Ville, and took the black master Don (played by Mahsala Ali) to the southern Kentucky to eat KFC.

Let’s talk about the 1962 Cadillac Sedan·De·Ville. Marilyn Monroe also owned a 1961 model. On August 5, 1962, a generation of sexy goddess Monroe was found dead in Braden, Los Angeles. In the bedroom of the wooden apartment, he is 36 years old, which makes the world regret.

The title of the film "Green Book" may be more in line with the political stance of the college, and it is specifically linked to race. Instead, it’s me. I named the movie "I'm Writing to You in the South". Isn't it a special literary art? Because the protagonist Tony has been writing letters to his beautiful wife during the journey, hahaha...

Of course, "Green Book" is also good. I like everything green except the hat, including the light green Cadillac in the movie and the emerald green stone.

Personally, I feel that this is the most relaxed, pleasant, and warmest Oscar best film since the award of "Forrest Gump" in 1995, with a flowing plot and three-dimensional characters.

The process of watching the movie is like Tony and Tang taking me to the south. We passed by the cozy southern town, we passed by the plains with long thoughts, we ate fried chicken and listened to songs, and looked at each other’s arrogance and prejudice. The chicken bones after the meal were thrown out of the car.

I almost forget that this is the American South in 1962. The treatment of blacks has not been substantially improved compared to 1862. Martin Luther King’s "(I have a dream" has to wait for the following summer before Lincoln The memorial hall resounded throughout the United States.

Tang was already considered a black nobleman. He was sitting on a chair in his room, wearing a gorgeous robe, and he looked like a king about to be crowned emperor, and he could call Kennedy for help when he went to prison. But in the south, I was still treated unfairly. The issue of race is not discussed here, because the joy and warmth of the film can completely cover the shadows like the heavy snow at the end of the film. It is rare to have such a relaxed and happy Oscar best film. Why do you want to go? Dig the heavy part of it?

Here I want to say that Mahersala Ali is really a good actor. Unlike Denzel Washington and Will Smith who are also black, Ali is more restrained and humble, calm and elegant, and the expression between his eyebrows follows the development of the plot. Ever-changing, the two Oscars deserve their names.

As for King Aragorn, he created the image of a middle-aged veteran who loves his family and is loyal to his duties. He drove a car and sang jazz and performed the trick. Middle-earth brought him not only glory, but also Acting as precise as a scalpel.

What makes me very puzzled is, does Mahsala Ali really play the piano? In addition, the third season of Amway's American drama "True Detective" starring Ali is very good.

Green Book quotes

  • Dr. Don Shirley: Yes, I live in a castle, Tony! Alone. And rich white people pay me to play piano for them because it makes them feel cultured. But as soon as I step off that stage, I go right back to being just another nigger to them. Because that is their true culture. And I suffer that slight alone, because I'm not accepted by my own people 'cause I'm not like them, either. So, if I'm not black enough and if I'm not white enough and if I'm not man enough, then tell me, Tony, what am I?

  • Tony Lip: [Writing a letter to his wife] Dear Dolores, how are you? I am fine. I'm eating real good. Hamburgers mostly. So don't worry about me not eating good. I saw Dr. Shirley play the piano tonight. He don't play like a colored guy. He plays like Liberace, but better. He's like a genius, I think. When I look at him in the rear-view mirror, I can tell he's always thinking about stuff in his head. I guess that's what geniuses do. But it don't look fun to be that smart. I miss you very, very much.
