Still the original

The story is basically an accurate account of part of the original book, and it is said to be "part of the original", because the director selectively focused the camera on Tony, and some of the text about Dad in the original book was shortened in the movie.

The style of the film is unified: Shen Qu, silence. The director only restrained the use of brown tones, Ryuichi Sakamoto's soundtrack, small props such as cacti, etc. to add a three-dimensional effect to the original work. Murakami's text basically consists of the characters and narrators

recounting one or two small scenes in the first part. . What an eye-opener this

episode seems to me--how can there be such an idle person in Murakami's story? The storyline is true and accurate, but it's
strange that the unique pressure of the original has disappeared in the video , The movie seems to flatten the story, but the original text is loaded with thickness

Plenty of monologues; tonal loneliness. I haven't seen Murakami's original work yet, but I think it doesn't have a cinematic feel even if I take a large portion of the original text. The transformation of space in the panning shot (the transition created by the occlusion, including in the beginning, in the narration, eating Tony looked up and said something to you.

I followed Sakamoto Ryuichi's OST to find this movie. When the music and the video penetrate each other, it conveys a double sense of loneliness. The emotional displacement of urbanites shows the sustenance of materials and the alienation of interpersonal relationships. The camera pans and the low-pitched narration of Hidetoshi Nishishima is like flipping through Murakami's novels. The male protagonist tossing and turning on the floor is too lonely.
