Pity.
After I came back from the theater, I was thinking about how to evaluate this movie, and finally I could only use "regret" as the first word. The movie is certainly not bad and definitely worth the ticket price. The fighting girl with the ultimate gorgeous dance, every battle is very dazzling. Just looking at the battle screen, I don't think it's bad.
But "too shallow".
Even though a lot of classic storyboards of the original work are restored, the essence of this film is a plot with an old-fashioned starting point. It looks at the guessable face slaps and the full-level Shuangwen routine that discusses the problems of the original work. It became a simple strategy on the countertop. Even at the end, a simple story has not been fully told, but a clear expression of "I still want to make a sequel".
The original boy You Hao also turned into an adult Hugo, and talked about a cute and pitiful human-machine love with Carey, whose name was changed to Alita. The focus was also placed on this part.
This kind of treatment seems to be more suitable for the market. From the perspective of audience acceptance, such a simple plot is easy to accept and no brains. But the destruction of dreams is obviously more shocking than the destruction of love. The male protagonist struggles obsessively, and the ultimate delusion should have been the main body of Disillusionment. The love of children is really irrelevant before the gap piled up in flesh and blood.
Another point of my dissatisfaction may be a bit strange to others. The scrap iron town in the movie is too clean, and the rough and extreme living environment at the bottom is like a steel fairy tale.
So I can't help and won't say "poor" for this movie. I can only say "regret" because my expectations for it are probably too high. Or in other words, in the face of a talented girl who should have skipped grades with full marks and alarmed the four, she only got 80 points in the test, although she was excellent but regrettable.
Still, I might go for a second brush.
The unyielding struggle in the ruins itself is really too charming setting, even if it is made different from what I thought, I may still want to watch it again.
