Keywords: great " happy ending ";
Sub-standard: Standing on the functional threshold and life cycle of the movie, watching Oscar's "Green Book" strategy;
1. Aesthetically tired "American Sweetheart";
Regardless of the step-by-step "fishing narrative" of American dramas or the "structuralism" of American film's meticulous work, for now, American film and television are comparable to the mature film narrative craftsmanship of modern industrial assembly lines, and they show more aesthetic fatigue. We It is difficult to find the surprise of past stories in the current Hollywood movies , such as "Green Book".
2. Success is also industry, failure is also industry;
In the beginning, Hollywood dominated the world film scene because of the absolutely advanced " film industry quality ". Today, it seems that American movies will also decline because of the " industrial quality ".
Taking the "Green Book" as an example, the drama and appeal of art, music, scenes, performances, stories, and narratives are impeccable regardless of the perspective of the aesthetics of the film; even at the level above the story, the scene art The sense of high-level narrative, the agility of performance, and the sophistication of structure are still the top existence on this planet.
The industrial attribute is very important , it is practicing the exploration of film language, and then completing the pioneering of the narrative space of video media. This is unquestionably praiseworthy. The Hollywood film industry represented by Oscars is still the benchmark for the performance of global film media. In layman's terms , Hollywood is taking the lead in popularizing/promoting and even shaping the film culture and market. The Oscar is the best, basically representing and leading the film narrative style and market trend of this year.
However, film is fundamentally a humanistic art form, and the industry needs services, or at least matches the corresponding story height . In terms of market dimensions, industrial quality is a hard indicator to measure a movie, while "humanistic height" is a standard to test the strength of a story. Of course, there are more important story depths and humanistic patterns , but this film is even more out of the question.
Then, the story orientation of the film at the beginning of the conception is very clear. Out of the "awe" of politics, in terms of specifications, the standard of "first-class official reception" has been created-in fact, the " American theme ", and the essay is impeccable-especially politically correct , but there is no narrative sincerity. Consequences theory is indeed a situation of fame and fortune, but we don't like such movies.
I gave this film a bad review, not because of the industrial and mechanical nature of the narrative, although it is deadly enough for a story. A film company with this level of industrial specifications and aesthetics must be able to tell a true historical and culturally profound story, but considering subject matter restrictions, market risks, political pressures, etc., they chose not to tell the truth. That's it. In fact, strictly speaking, we do not require profoundness, only a little sincerity and truthfulness.
This is why we clearly gave it a negative review. We have seen too many films about bribing politics.
The former Oscar not only had the courage to challenge the market, but even existed specifically to break the aesthetics of the popular market and the pattern of group culture . The current Oscars are full of political radiation. It seems to be a " Global Political Spring Festival Gala" in the film industry . On the contrary, it seems that the American political arena is a bit tricky, and there is really no bargaining chip in hand.
Pakistan, Lebanon, and Mexico all have it. Within three to five years, if nothing unexpected happens, we can see a North Korean film that has won the Oscar for the best foreign language film in a " diplomatically and politically correct " way, like 91 The "Rome" of this year is the same-under the economic pressure visible to the naked eye, Oscar, as the world's most culturally and market-influential film brand, is gradually losing its former brand connotation.
Compared with the box office department, the audience's expectations for the Oscar series are special. Academicism, not to mention academic style, at least academic consciousness, this film does not meet the standards on these two points. Having said that, it was originally a political project, and political logic must be followed , which is understandable. At the same time, no one is qualified to ask others to behave, but this film is a bit special because of the " black skin ".
3. Classic narrative package;
Let's talk about the story first;
Even if you can feel that the screenwriter has deliberately avoided the "expected" sentiment, the same " narrative template " still allows the audience to imagine the beginning and the success of the story at the beginning- film narration has become a streamlined operation .
Xiao Hei + Xiao Bai, the very obvious conflict of opposition, is not only the opposition of the skin, but also the opposition of the class , and it is a kind of irony-in that era, Xiao Hei was polite and well-dressed, and Xiao Bai was rather careless and shy. , This is the beginning of the story. Regrettably, the beginning of the story is the whole story- what kind of story development will be presented in the " Black and White Class Drama" , and how the final routine " American Dessert Set " will be completed. The audience has already guessed everything. They will definitely be in peace. Ye rushed back, even though Xiao Hei seemed to leave alone in the end, the audience knew that he would come back eventually and knock on Xiao Bai's door.
To make matters worse, the content presented in this film does not match the speculation of the audience, let alone expectation. Even if it only talks about the " industrial drama " of narrative , this film is far lost to a group of more " industrial drama " American dramas. The most obvious part of it is that it almost blocks any "black and white conflicts" that have a certain degree of social sensitivity. "Sentiment . This will make viewers outside of the United States feel that the "black and white stories" of the era they read in the news or books are far more true and "dramatic" than the film presents- regardless of skin or class. , This film is disappointing .
If the audience is again defined as a mainland audience, everyone will inevitably think that this kind of painless joy that completely ignores the real existence and obviously whitewashes the peace is not the "American theme"? -The United States, which used to be "political and clean," also has its political correctness and main theme.
This is a matter of losing Oscar integrity. What about " freedom of black and white speech "?
In the development of the story, in the process of conflict between the two people, the only thing that can be said to be dramatic is the comedy part. You know, this is a movie about " black skin ". Including Xiao Hei's piano play and Xiao Bai's "Trouble Handling" play, relative to the subject matter, there is no bright spot. Even as far as the "writing letter" scene is concerned, Xiao Hei's writing style is really not very good.
What a sensitive and love-less woman can she cry when she sees such a letter?
4. Machinery brought by industry;
Let’s talk about characters
Whether Xiao Hei or Xiao Bai, the story presents only "comedy", without sincerity, let alone profoundness.
Especially Xiao Hei, the scenes set around Xiao Hei are even a bit embarrassing-such as the love of homosexuality. I really don't understand the meaning of such a plot point to the theme. As the climax of the rain scene, not only can't help but wonder, it is a bit inexplicable, and the dispute between the two sides of the contradiction is not the same thing at all. The snow scene as a "dessert" is not even dramatic.
At the end of the story, apart from the spotless suit, what other "color attributes" does Xiao Hei have for that identity? In addition to smoking more and eating more chicken, what is left of Xiaobai as the "identity recognition" of Italian immigrants ? Not to mention the "class attributes" they represent respectively .
History is always ironic. Sometimes, we will miss the era of "The Wrangler" and "Furong Town", and even the era of "Red Flag Canal" and "Song of Youth" as the main theme. Although speaking, it was a terrible era, but still I can't help thinking about a film narrative without a narrative industry, a screen performance without acting skills, everything is sincere.
Having said that, Xiao Hei is actually very representative, it is the epitome of our "interesting" era. People who have not read a few books can also pretend to be experts and scholars. Movies without humanity can also become art palaces. A man who drank downwind whiskey, drove a Cadillac, and wore an Armani was also qualified to interpret the story of "dark skin" that took place in New York in 1962. At the same time, few people felt that there was any sense of contradiction.
5. American desserts, panicked;
In fact, it doesn't need to have a deep or professional film knowledge background, and ordinary audiences can also realize that all the goodness of this film is due to the narrative skills.
This film uses more than 20 narrative and comedy techniques. At the same time, it is more conspicuous that its story is without emotion and sincerity, let alone "profound history", it can not even be a down-to-earth character--- What kind of characteristics a black musician should have is more than just a gesture.
The shaping of Xiao Hei is the lifeblood of the film. So we don’t know, why should we use black skin to create a person who only sees self and loneliness?
For story conflicts, they lack the most basic emotional truth and sincerity, and for dark skins, they lack the most basic facts and humane respect. In fact, the story about "black skin", even the trivial things circulated in the market, is a bloody pain, but this film turns it into a comedy dessert; the handling of the characters is extremely appearance and cold, without flesh and blood. Plus the last cookie-cutter "American Sweetheart", sweet is really sweet, but it's too sweet. The black American brothers are in their early days, but there are other black brothers on this planet who can’t get enough to eat. They can’t be sweet. You are not asked to worry about the dark skin, at least not to consume their suffering in a political way.
In the age of entertainment supremacy, everything is available, I hope it is not numb. To what extent does one need to be numb to objective history before he feels that the story of black skin is a kind of "comedy conflict"?
At the very beginning, American movies were remembered by the audience because of the most subtle humanistic care. It's not because of industrial quality, let alone aesthetic height, but just a little drama about "born for human dignity and freedom"-especially for us living in the celestial dynasty, the humane spirit is something more popular with public opinion .
Over the years, many young Chinese audiences have understood the propositions of the era at the beginning of the last century—democracy and freedom—that have been supplemented by thinking beyond textbooks in American movies, and they have taken advantage of the trend to imagine the United States as an "ideal country." In our words, this is the blessing brought to the last century by American movies.
Regrettably, as a "textbook for the film industry", this film is a negative textbook-the interpretation of this film should instead stand on the political dimension rather than the film itself. Because the political content is much more complex and fresh than the story content, it can win the Oscar, but also because its political rationality is more important than the rationale of the story .
Perhaps it is because of the rise of more emerging cultural bodies, perhaps because of Hollywood’s own unpredictability and the aesthetic fatigue of the market over the years. Although the Marvel universe seems to be blooming, the cultural potential of Hollywood is indeed a declining trend . It seems that they have lost interest in the pulse of the times. This is far more than just a movie or an Oscar.
6. The pampered American emperor;
The art market of a country can better reflect the country's geography or temporal culture . When the mainland market, when various speculations and marketing tricks, movies with no narrative sincere, but they are winning the box office, many literary critics worry that this is not the tragedy of mainland film production, this is the mainland. The sorrow of literary and artistic consumption , especially the sorrow of the young people who are the mainstream of pop culture consumption-you who grew up eating junk food, in the end can only digest junk culture.
However, seeing that the "Green Paper" produced by the American Emperor has all won the Oscars, the mainland literary and art critics can feel more or less relieved. This proves that the American Emperor's level of literary and artistic consumption is not much better.
Before, we had nothing but admiration for the United States. It is indeed too far apart. For many years, the United States has existed as a "dream-making country". Presumably, the current fatigue of art production is the epitome of the American emperor's stepping away from the altar in the world political structure.
Hollywood hasn't been a big brother for a long time. In terms of the appeal of movies worldwide now, the theme of "serious horror" in Thailand, the theme of "desire and eroticism" in Japan, the theme of "murder suspense" in South Korea, the theme of "simple reality" in Taiwan, and the theme of "religious" in Central Asia ", and even Indian "social" themes, although strictly speaking, these small themes do not have the volume and scale of impact on Hollywood's market, but in terms of movie theme expectations , they have already left "Hollywood desserts" far away. Behind you.
This fact confirms the truth from the side. The more developed the economy, the less independent the culture , because the high dependence on the economy destroys the balance of the cultural ecology itself. For this film, we can hardly imagine that other countries can produce a film with such a split nutritional composition. It uses a world-class film industry level to match a set of extremely ignorant and low-level stories.
At the same time, it also confirms a deeper truth that hunger is the source of culture and art, and a full stomach is harmful to the brain. In the last century, the mainland did not have an industrial film industry system. Instead, they created a batch of films that can leave the mark of the times. The situation is much better now, but it is hard to say, what can be left for the future.
The situation in the United States is the same. The previous "Oscar of the Best" had the product power for decades at every turn. Now it is hard to imagine that the "Green Book" and others can have the same cultural energy. Of course, it is not entirely a matter of film production. To a certain extent, as a literary and artistic form of film, it has passed its peak period.
The most important thing in literature and art is self-esteem and sincerity. American movies are arrogant, but they are not sincere. Just like a person, social skills emerge in endlessly, and they will be confident because of these self-conceived "high-level emotional intelligence". In the end, "technology" alone may not be able to make friends. The same goes for the movie market. The sweeter the product, the shorter the product shelf life.
7. Don't entertain disasters;
The pampered American emperor has been arrogant for too long, and it seems that they have no ability to look at the problem objectively. We can imagine, first, because it involves language expression, the film should be better than just watching the dramatic effect of the translation; second, after all, it hinders the market, the film should not be sharp; even so, please think about it. In terms of subject matter, is it still time to play comedy? At least it shouldn’t be the kind of comedy that everyone remembers after watching the movie.
As far as the black ethnic group is concerned, has this kind of movie that rushed to make a sound for their history, in the end, has it made a sound for them? Which black person was able to make a phone call to the White House when he was persecuted? As far as the white ethnic group is concerned, does this kind of film that rushes to make them reflect on history, in the end, constitutes a reflection? If both of these answers are negative, then the film is "entertainment racism", not only meaningless, even irresponsible, the behavior of consuming historical scars is just a little higher than our anti-Japanese drama, industrial quality .
8. Music and sports are the best gifts God gives to black skin;
9. About the piano;
Piano manufacturers around the world should really thank Hollywood. It's a Hollywood movie that made the piano "Yangchun Baixue". For a long time, only the piano has endowed movie scenes with noble attributes, and has been the most representative movie symbol of music. In fact, in the words of this film, the piano is just a piano, even if it has some other attributes, it is only a prop for the rich to decorate the rich.
◇ Standing on the functional threshold and life cycle of the movie, watch Oscar's "Green Book" strategy
In summary, we give this film a clear negative review. However, there is still a question to think about. Why can it still form a public opinion influence on the popular film market even when it is within the scope of the subject matter and with extremely low humanistic literacy , and even creates a 9-point public aesthetic height? It has to be said that this huge contrast is not actually the aesthetic difference between individuals and groups, but more importantly, the expectations of film thresholds.
First, the film shows a more mature recognition of film language-this is the reason why it won the "best original screenplay";
First of all, film is indeed a kind of industry, a kind of "re-functional" humanity.
The author writes a book and forms "copyright" through media publication. This is the first functionalization of the humanities. At present, copyright is the only and first function of "self-dignity" in the humanities. It shouldn't be so. The rest of the time, it is either busy bribing politics, or busy serving the economy-this tone is not excessive. When necessary, religions as the bottom line of humanities must serve politics . This is historical evidence;
The screenwriter then adapted the literary copyright into a movie script, and then industrialized it into a movie-the industrialization of the humanities, and the second formation of the movie copyright, which is the re-functionalization of the humanities.
The whole process of functionalization is accompanied by weakening and even harming of humanistic inclusion, because the more functional things are, the more specific they are. In other words, in fact , the narrative space and time of movies are extremely limited -how many humanistic opinions can we express at most in one and a half hours using video media? It is also necessary to use structure to make the expression of opinions as logical and rational as possible.
Film is the highest representative of graphic design art . This is the functional threshold of film -the humanistic efficiency range, which is very low. Therefore, although we criticize the film’s entertaining treatment of "dark skin", we have to admit that there is no positive way to deal with "dark skin", which is both historically profound and sensitive to public opinion. The subject matter of "multi-dimensional nature" of political affiliation.
Take this film as an example. In fact, to a certain extent, our dissatisfaction with it reflects the maturity of this film in dealing with film language. To give a representative example, the most common mistake made in film production outside of Hollywood is to want everything-the themes are flooded . This is the movie error code we have labeled 1. When making a movie, I can't wait to put the "Book of Changes" in it-a movie must learn to express limited opinions within a limited time and space.
Take the "dark skin" concept of the film as an example. This proposition is very time-wide and space-complex. How large can the narrative space of a movie contain time- and space-penetrating themes? To a certain extent, movies should not be used to deal with subjects with a certain degree of humanistic seriousness.
The theme of this film is very rational and specific. It is to be comedy, and all those involving sensitivity and profoundness are discarded. The viewing process even gives people a sense of "scale" -deliberately refreshing and limiting the bottom of the story about dark skin. The color and the latitude of thinking, and at the same time, it is not obvious to the audience that this story is entertaining dark skin -this is the place where the film is shown as the "best original script" skill. Not everyone has the ability to set the background color of the story.
In terms of the cognition of the narrative threshold of the film, the film is very rational and mature. At the same time, in the choice of expression, it has a high-level sense-it can be seen that it is trying to use another way to support the dark skin, but the degree of completion is not ideal.
Second, a strategy from the perspective of the macro film life cycle;
Compared with the film language setting, what is more important is that the film conveys Oscar's mature cognition of the life growth and cycle of the film.
We can see that Americans are beginning to realize that movies are dying , and it is difficult for humans to make movies like the "Godfathers" of the last century. Therefore, the attitude of bowing to politics is somewhat compelling.
When it is difficult for a film to independently form a cultural potential/artistic wave , it has to consider the issue of affiliation and borrowing . This is where the film is more advanced than the language setting of the film.
Of course, this reflects the skill of Oscars or Hollywood think tanks. When the glory of the film is no longer, the only choice is to take advantage of the trend or take advantage of the trend . The most important thing is that no matter where the life cycle of the film goes, the American film must be Worldwide, continue to output influence.
From this perspective, the "Green Book" is an attempt at the macro-strategic level of American films, which occurred in the middle and late stages of the film’s life cycle. As the global strategic highland of film production, Oscars is facing the rise of more emerging cultures and literary forms. , And when Hollywood movies have had to seek change when their influence has declined.
Ordinary audiences will not obviously feel that the movie is changing, because for most people, the movie is just a matter of ticket price. In fact, from the perspective of film production and distribution, the cultural potential of films has shrunk sharply , although what everyone sees is that the mainland box office market is rising.
Once "Shawshank's Redemption" can represent the spirit of an era; "Young and Dangerous" can accommodate the empathy of an age group. Nowadays, film has been unable to carry complex social emotions. It has completely evolved from a remarkable form of humanities and art to a pure form of entertainment. At the same time, even as a form of entertainment, its living space is being tested. Regardless of the major breakthroughs in film technology within a few years, the television media today is the film media tomorrow.
History has also proved this point, many once glorious, have long gone away from us. The French New Wave of the last century, and the Hong Kong films 20 years ago, they all used the form of film to shape the existence of the geo-cultural structure. The cruelty of reality is that when we just realized it, these things no longer exist. We can imagine Oscar’s struggle to survive. In fact, its influence is no longer the same as it was in the past. The Green Paper is a step in keeping with the time, because the market demand has changed, even if the "Godfather" pattern is photographed, the pattern of this era The film market, no matter the box office market or the public opinion market, can not release the latter's influence.
At the level of humanistic value, this film is undoubtedly a failure; but at the level of Oscar strategic decision-making, this film is very successful. As far as the market is concerned, no matter how high or low the value of the humanistic theory of the story is, it has already won in terms of the energy that a movie can exert. In terms of politics, although it inevitably attracts criticism, in terms of the political capital behind it, it has also won. Already won.
In the final analysis, the author creates a work, not for the writer, but for the reader. The vast majority of readers will not have the high level of thinking to create this work. Therefore, literary and artistic producers really need to consider the hunting and conquering of the market, rather than being loyal to some other beliefs.
Of course, there are always people who insist on belief over survival. They are worthy of respect. But we must also consider that, especially in this era, the market does not need "Dream of Red Mansions", nor can it support the people who write "Dream of Red Mansions" . The author does not need chicken soup, but the reader needs it; in the same way, Oscar does not need the green paper, but the film market needs it. This is the life consciousness that the author of this era should have, and it is also the greatest enlightenment that Oscar's "Green Book" has given us.
Third, a more precise and sleek film narrative orientation;
Let's look at the "story form" of this film, which is entertainment to warmth. Although it feels a bit soapy, it is indeed accurate and sleek.
Let's talk about entertainment first. Regardless of whether we approve it or not, entertainment is the first market enablement and demand for contemporary movies . Korean light joy, American sitcoms, and Chinese language comedies are the mainstream actors in the art market. Take Chinese dialects as an example. It appears more and more in contemporary Chinese movies. The only legality of film function is comedicity , not the characteristics of regional culture or historical language. Although the occurrence, development and even disappearance of dialects are the same as those in dramas. 'S comedy has nothing to do with it.
Although we can't say what the specific reasons are, entertainment has indeed become the "international standard" of the contemporary cultural market, even surpassing the "three customs" on which the literary and artistic forms of the year depended- comedy has become the only social empathy. Only entertainment can form a thorough killing of all kinds of market levels . For example, there are too many documentaries about dark skin, although they are much more serious and profound than this one, who cares? To a certain extent, as the "black theme" of the film, it must be the narrative orientation chosen by the film.
Let's talk about warmth. One thing needs to be acknowledged that skin color is no less sensitive to American society and politics than ours-at least they can be put on the table. Therefore, this issue is very complicated. It is both about history and politics. This film chooses a relatively "relaxed attitude" narrative orientation, including finally winning the Oscar with a "political correctness" posture, which is a kind of "literary art". Smooth" .
At the same time, the vast majority of audiences walk into the cinema to entertain, not to go to class. As far as the market is concerned, the film is overflowing in value in terms of entertainment appeals, and this is enough. Together with the final dessert set, it further enriches the emotional comfort of the audience. What else can we ask of a movie?
Things in the world are always contradictory. The dark-skinned entertainment interpretation is definitely wrong. More importantly, desserts are not always good. Eating too many candies can hurt the stomach. The same is true for movie desserts. It can numb our spirits. These are precisely the questions that literary critics must think about. This is also the reason why there are obvious aesthetic differences between individuals and the public, and their value orientations and expectations are different.
No matter from the inside or outside of the film, the film shows a precise grasp of market needs and a smooth handling of sensitive subjects. I don’t know if the creators of the film thought that way at the beginning. Is it possible to explore a way to reduce emotional damage and public opinion fluctuations to complete the "redress" of dark skin?
After all, history is a kind of inevitability. Since a thing exists, it must have its reasons and inevitability. How significant is it to hate its "probable defect" afterwards?
Fourth, more advanced film language;
From visual effects, to sound effects, to artistic feelings, this film is really advanced. We should acknowledge the strength and efforts of others. This point has been mentioned above, so I won't repeat it. Here only from the three major awards won in this film, let's analyze this problem again.
Best Picture-Advanced technology, plus political correctness. In fact, those who can be nominated have all the skills required. Therefore, the best film should actually be called the "best politically correct film" or "best entertainment effect." In fact, in recent years, Hollywood's best film has long been a non-strict film category, and it can be understood as a kind of political trend- the film most representative of contemporary American politics.
The best male match-this is a political benefit, because the male match is black. If we have to give it the best, we just remember that a man with a heroic suit is considered the best costume design.
Best Original Screenplay-As mentioned above, the victory lies in the regularity and yardstick of the narrative.
The above is a joke to a certain extent, but the film is indeed overflowing in value in terms of film craftsmanship. Highly entertaining, coupled with advanced film craftsmanship, the popularity of this film is objectively reasonable.
Fifth, a more ambitious movie function;
The industrial height is different, the film function is also different.
Compared with movies in other languages, Hollywood movies have far-reaching social functions. Of course, the premise is the global radiation of monopolistic American culture. To give a counter example, other countries are not without politically correct films, especially our country. The only difference is that our films do not have global political influence, so it is useless if they are politically correct.
The real difference between the box office system and the Oscar system lies in the different positioning of film functions. One marketing department, one political department. From the "best" of Oscars in these years, it is obvious to see its political management philosophy . This is a film market planning strategy and head design standing at the national level. The box office department represented by Marvel focuses on the market. In the final analysis, only the economy can make the film alive; the academic department represented by Oscars, business politics, If you have money, you need to consider how to spend it. Moreover, any machine needs a brain mechanism .
At the same time, the globalization of American politics requires Hollywood to play a flanking role . Everyone hates the White House and the Pentagon, but no one rejects Hollywood. Thus, the "Green Book" that African friends also like was born.
If you look closely, film is an advertising medium that integrates art. Just like advertising media, the market for films is becoming more and more accurate.
Over the years, in fact, the functionality of movies has been changing- movies have been releasing and expanding their social and commercial functions.
In the beginning, the film participated in cultural life with a technological breakthrough standpoint. There are too many movies, leaving us with a beautiful and concrete memory mark.
Later, film became a kind of "marketing", and it began to have a considerable "product conversion rate." In fact, movies have always been a kind of visual advertisement, such as this film, which can be understood as a kind of "political advertisement ", just like many of the previous war blockbusters were the Pentagon's recruitment advertisements.
Up to now, from the perspective of the recent Oscars, it has participated in the "public relations management" in politics with extremely subtle penetration of public opinion, with great influence, intervening in the mood of the people, and then influencing the political trend. In fact, this film is an example. History is an unclear account book. Maintaining the stability of "black and white politics" can only be done in this seemingly gentle, but ingenious, roundabout posture.
Therefore, market-oriented, coupled with political correctness, this film has achieved a win-win situation with a very technically advanced and sleek expression.
This makes us think, maybe it is a microcosm-with Hollywood's "social initiative" and great cause, a movie often needs to bear too much economic or political added value beyond the humanistic feelings, and it squeezes its social function to the limit. Directors are becoming more and more useless. Is it a good thing that production has become a really important link in film production? At least one thing is obvious. In order to welcome the 92nd Oscars and beyond, film critics must pay close attention to political supplementary lessons, because there will be no movies, only politics.
Having said that, it is actually believed that the Oscar of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is still the strongest reserve of film theory and practice on the planet. They know better than us what a good story is purely from a "humanistic standpoint" perspective. It's just that fame comes at a price. Oscars have always shown rejection of mainstream and popular. If you don't embrace authority and politics, how can you feed the world-class "Oscars"? What's more, in the past, word-of-mouth alone could fight the box office department, but now word-of-mouth also costs money and goes through trial.
