Love

The movie tells the story of an old man who had agreed with his wife to travel to a waterfall located in far away South America, but because of his life, he was unable to make the trip. Until the government wanted to demolish his old house, he decided to take the house and fly to the waterfall with him. The little fat man Russell I met was an adventure together.

This is a warm and healing movie. The old man is helpless in the face of house demolition. This is a portrayal of real life, but unexpected things have happened. The old man had promised his wife a trip to the waterfall. Since the house was going to be demolished, why not take it away. With the house, with the photos of his wife, and with love, the old man embarked on a wonderful trip. I met the little fat man Russell on the road. The two of them are not so lonely. There are many thrills and surprises along the way. When I arrived at the waterfall, I couldn't help but leave tears of emotion. It was a trip full of love. The old man’s love for his wife, the old man’s love for the little fat man, the little fat man’s love for the old man.

In a troubled world, how rare such pure love is.

The strongest grandfather and the lightest house ever~a bunch of unreliable dogs and a funny bird~ plus a lovely old grandma who doesn’t have much drama, make up a love story. Great film!

    Life needs fairy tales.

Up quotes

  • Young Ellie: [Ellie opens her Adventure Book to reveal to Carl a "Life" magazine with Charles Muntz on the cover] You know him.

    [Carl gasps]

Young Ellie: Charles Muntz, explorer. When I get big, I'm going where he's going,

[pulls away the magazine to reveal a map of...]

Young Ellie: South America. It's like America, but south.

  • Carl Fredricksen: [to Russell] Now, we're gonna walk to the falls quickly and quietly with no rap music or flashdancing.

    Russell: Uh-huh.

Carl Fredricksen: We have three days, at best, before the helium leaks out of those balloons. And if we're not at the falls when that happens...

Russell: [behind Carl, obviously distracted, looking down] Sand.

Carl Fredricksen: ...we're not getting to the falls.

    Russell: I found sand!

Carl Fredricksen: [looks up at his house, through a window, to where a picture of old Ellie hangs on the wall] Don't you worry, Ellie. We'll get our house over there.
