In my opinion, this is a love story that has been missed against a corrupt background.
Gatsby, the once innocent (mainly poor) boy, liked the cute and charming little girl Daisy, but she didn't deserve it. He watched her marry a rich man and went to the army by herself. Returning home and singing every night, in the midst of feasting and feasting, still thinking of the pier on the opposite side of the river and the girl with the same light in her heart. However, the girl is not as beautiful as he thought, nor is it worthy of his efforts. He bumped into someone (who also happened to be the husband's mistress) and asked him to top the bag, and finally left without even coming to see Gatsby at the funeral.
Does the poor person have something to hate? not necessarily. At least poor people must have pity. Be superficial and look at the appearance.
