After five years, I will watch this DCEU origin movie again

This superhero movie directed by Zha should be a "heterogeneous" when it was released. The same period movies that year were "Thor 2" and "Iron Man 3". These two MCU works are both showcasing "another world", a world that exists in the imagination of comics and movie fans. That world is unremarkable, but it seems to be far away from us. It's like going to the amusement park during vacation. Having a great time, but after all, we are going to leave, this kind of happiness is only a moment. What MOS is discussing is what would happen if superman really existed in this world, analyzing superheroes from a more realistic perspective, and letting people fall into deep and long-term thinking. Audiences who are accustomed to the MCU mode will have questions, ask what super-English film should be so serious? And expressed their doubts with scores.

1. Superman is a child of two worlds

He is both Kal-EL and Clark Kent. He is the son of Krypton.

His biological father, Jor-El, saw him as the hope of Krypton. It can be seen from the dialogue that they meet again later, if possible, Jor-EI will allow Superman to grow up without concealing his ability. And his (controversial) adoptive father Jonathan always forbids him to use superpowers, whether it is to save or hurt people, and lose his life for it. Is he wrong? No, his decision was correct. With Clark's ability, he could become a god, a true god. But as he said, "People fear things they don't understand." Everyone can't bear the consequences of exposing superpowers. The world has never been ready to accept the gods of this world. The young Clark will grow up in an environment full of doubts, and if his growth trajectory deviates slightly because of this, he can completely rule the world or destroy it with his ability. Fortunately, the Kents allowed Clark to grow on a normal trajectory and possess a higher moral level than ordinary humans. Jonathan planted a seed of trust in Clark's heart, so when the earth was in crisis, he persuaded himself to stand up and protect the people of the earth.

When Superman hesitated about whether he should stand up and face the government, he went to the priest, and the priest told him: "Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith first, the trust part comes later. Sometimes you have to be convinced first. Doubt, trust will follow." I think the priest is actually a projection of Superman's heart, and he has already decided in his heart to come forward, whether the world trusts him or not.

His biological father gave him a superhuman body, and his adoptive father gave him a superhuman soul.

2. Zod is an excellent villain

In recent years, the super-British movies or comic movies have always suffered from a common problem, that is, the villains are very thinly portrayed. Those villains are either too second in the middle-they don't agree to destroy the world, so they are too stupid-the methods are too naive to make people criticize. General Zod is the leader of the villain class. From the beginning to the end, he was exhausted for the future of Krypton. Moreover, the methods are vicious. They killed former friends in order to achieve their goals. When they came to the earth, they quickly began environmental transformation, and they never procrastinated. If the protagonist is not too strong and the teammates are too useless, General Zod will let Krypton rise again in minutes. And seeing the general trend is over, die for honor, without nostalgia. The success of this role has also enriched the image of Superman. Every step Superman made against Zod proved that he can change the world, and it's on the good side. This also pave the way for BVS.

Three, two women

The most important women in Superman's life should be his mother Martha and his girlfriend Lois Lane. These two people are also Superman's spiritual pillars. His mother Martha has always been dedicated to guiding him in the right direction. When Clark is in trouble, Martha can always save him. She is an isolated island in the vast ocean, Superman’s safe house. She plays a very important role in Superman’s heart. The first time he and Zord started fighting for her-"You think you can threaten my mother! You think you can threaten my mother!" So it seems that BVS's martha stalk is not that contradictory, right? Lois is the first human to approach and accept Superman proactively. Her trust in Superman made Clark see a signal, and people accepted his signal. Superman is willing to be better for her, and of course it can also be irrational for her (see Injustice).

Finally, about Zha Dao. There have been a lot of controversies surrounding the guide. What is too dark, the story is not good, the movie is so long, etc., I won't go into details here. Zach Schneider is definitely the best comic film director. But because the core of the movie is mostly deep and serious, it is not friendly to passers-by and the production party (manual smile, it is Warner that is correct). Those who think he can't tell the story can go to the director's cut version (not available in MOS). The BVS release version and the guide cut version are simply two movies. The question of duration is related to the theme of the movie. 150 minutes is necessary when you are trying to discuss realism in a movie, and it’s 100 points to guide the picture!

Recently, I have some feelings about watching the game: It is not that MCU and DCEU must be divided into different levels, they are just shooting superhero movies from different angles. It's a pity that some fans always deliberately ignore this problem. Some people mock the DCEU's deep pretence, and some people ridicule the MCU for being too fun. They may be able to quarrel up to the point of noisy, but they will never let go of their prejudices to feel the core of those filmmakers' creative creations. This is probably their sorrow.

Extended Reading

The editing of the previous hour was slightly flawed, but the flaws were not concealed. I like the idea: the superhero dark direction was initiated by DC, and then ended by DC. Seriousness doesn't necessarily mean that you can't be bright. The film is based on Clark's human identity, but always emphasizes his belief beyond race. The sincere emotion and the beautiful picture complement each other. Thank you to this real hero for taking good care of us.

Zach Schneider’s movies are not welcome in the celestial dynasty. The superman theme becomes more difficult to film as it goes on. In fact, letting other people shoot may not produce any children’s movies. There is mainly one shortcoming in the whole movie, and the heroine part is too blunt. . By the way, this textbook has contributed the best super-English fighting scenes

Man of Steel quotes

  • General Swanwick: What have they hit us with?

Dr. Emil Hamilton: Looks like some kind of gravity weapon. It's working in tandem with their ship. Somehow they're increasing the Earth's mass clouding the atmosphere with particulates. Oh, my God. They're terraforming.

    Captain Carrie Farris: What's that?

Dr. Emil Hamilton: Planetary engineering modifying the Earth's atmosphere and topography.

General Swanwick: Turning Earth into Krypton.

Captain Carrie Farris: But what happens to us?

Dr. Emil Hamilton: Based on these readings, there won't be an "us."

Northcom Threat Analyst: General Swanwick, sir. I'm on with the control tower. Colonel Hardy's on his way in and he's got Superman in tow.

    General Swanwick: Superman?

Northcom Threat Analyst: The alien, sir. That's what they're calling him. Superman.

  • Jonathan Kent: Did they hurt you?

Clark Kent at 13: You know they can't.

Jonathan Kent: That's not what I meant. I meant, "are you all right?"

Clark Kent at 13: I wanted to hit that kid. I wanted to hit him so bad.

Jonathan Kent: I know you did. I mean, part of me even wanted you to, but then what? Make you feel any better? You just have to decide what kind of a man you want to grow up to be, Clark; because whoever that man is, good character or bad, he's... He's gonna change the world.
