Truman Show

A Truman show is a life of decades, and the protagonist at the center of this show has also been deceived for decades.

When you find that everything you encounter in your life is arranged by people one day, you think it is a feeling of collapse of the worldview, let alone the Truman who is at the center of the scam. When he sensed something was wrong, Truman began to work hard to escape from this place. Taoyuan Island, this translated version is great. It's a place like Xanadu, but it's just a planning place for others, but a cage to trap oneself.

Seeing Truman trying his best to escape from Taoyuan Island, he couldn't help feeling sorry for him. Life is nothing but a deceit. His life has been broadcast live for so many years, but all the thoughts of risking that sprout up are stifled. Truman is pitiful.

In my opinion, Suvia can understand Truman, but the planner cannot understand Truman. There is nothing wrong with Suvia's accusation against the planner, and the planner still does not repent.

Seeing Truman's last man sailing on the sea, he couldn't help but feel the urge to cheer for him. Seeing him finally leave Taoyuan Island, I was happy for him and worried for him. Leaving Taoyuan Island, where can he go and what can he do? The people he knows are all on the island. Leaving Taoyuan Island is tantamount to severing his life over the past few decades. But how easy is this severance?

The planner is hateful, but where can the audience not hate it? When the Truman show ended, the audience's first reaction was not to return to their lives, but to find out if there were any other shows. Who knows if there will be a second Truman?

The Truman Show quotes

  • Christof: Talk to me. Say something. Well, say something, goddamn it. You're on television. You're live to the whole world.

Truman Burbank: [Before he goes and exits off-set trough the door] In case I don't see you... good afternoon, good evening, and good night. Yeah!

  • [Truman and Meryl continue to drive away from Seahaven; Meryl spots a "Danger: Fire Hazard" sign]

    Meryl: What about that sign?

Truman Burbank: I'm sure they're exaggerating. We'll be fine.

[Out of nowhere, a massive of fire erupts in the middle of the road]

Meryl: [panicked] What bout that there? Would you believe that?

[Truman and Meryl drive through the fire, and aside from a lot of smoke pouring in, they are fine]

Meryl: Oh. Oh boy. Truman, we're on fire!

    Truman Burbank: It's okay!

    Meryl: We're on fire!

Truman Burbank: It's okay! It's just smoke! Just smoke. You okay?

    Meryl: [terrified] YES!

Truman Burbank: [crazed] WANNA DO IT AGAIN?

    Meryl: [still terrified] NO!
