Truman

This is a very interesting movie. Maybe it’s strange to watch it the first time, because the metaphors contained in it are indeed intriguing. Let’s briefly talk about the plot. The protagonist Truman has been manipulated throughout his life since he was born. His growth, his friends, and even some of the things he will encounter are all manipulated, but he doesn't know anything about it. In the end, he overcame his fear and bravely broke through the Truman world tailored for him. I have been thinking about what this film is about. Some people say it is freedom and others say it is courage, but I think it is true. Open a little brain hole, maybe we are like the Truman in the film, in a controlled world that we don’t know, some people control my TV, and there are some audiences in front of my TV. They look at my life and understand everything about me. , Of course, there are film reviews with "Trumen's World" currently typing on the keyboard... Okay, what should we really think about if we are serious? As expressed in the film, the world you know is not necessarily real. Because we are all influenced by some media, our own sense organs, and our judgment of the world. In short, what you think is the real world is not necessarily really real.

In the end, I like what Truman said when he left. If I can’t see you again, I wish you good morning, good afternoon, and good night.

The Truman Show quotes

  • Christof: Talk to me. Say something. Well, say something, goddamn it. You're on television. You're live to the whole world.

Truman Burbank: [Before he goes and exits off-set trough the door] In case I don't see you... good afternoon, good evening, and good night. Yeah!

  • [Truman and Meryl continue to drive away from Seahaven; Meryl spots a "Danger: Fire Hazard" sign]

    Meryl: What about that sign?

Truman Burbank: I'm sure they're exaggerating. We'll be fine.

[Out of nowhere, a massive of fire erupts in the middle of the road]

Meryl: [panicked] What bout that there? Would you believe that?

[Truman and Meryl drive through the fire, and aside from a lot of smoke pouring in, they are fine]

Meryl: Oh. Oh boy. Truman, we're on fire!

    Truman Burbank: It's okay!

    Meryl: We're on fire!

Truman Burbank: It's okay! It's just smoke! Just smoke. You okay?

    Meryl: [terrified] YES!

Truman Burbank: [crazed] WANNA DO IT AGAIN?

    Meryl: [still terrified] NO!
