Alien 2, not so scary

Because of the release of "Alien · Contract", the whole world began to review the Alien series.
And I, after watching "Alien" many years ago, left a terrible shadow, and never watched it again. The little monster got out of the human body, and then fled to a corner. After that, it was everywhere, always feeling that it would suddenly appear in a certain shadow. So many years ago, the cramped and tense atmosphere created by the film may be difficult to match today.
But "Alien 2" is obviously not that scary anymore, it is a neat and serious commercial blockbuster.
The script is complete and has almost no loopholes, avoiding the inexplicable problems left by the first one. Set up new suspense and reversal, and attribute the problem to human greed and curiosity. When Newt's parents followed the path of their predecessors and found alien ships, it seemed that the fate of these people was already doomed. Waves of aliens struck, pushing the plot in the normal direction. Just such a neat script setting makes it seem to me in 2017 that if I can guess the ending, it will lose a lot of fun, and I will never return to the surprise and joy of that era.
Characters are distinct and prominent. The heroine is brave and just, exuding the glory of motherhood, and is also a continuation of the alien motif. Newt, a little girl who witnessed all the darkness, kept all her innocence. Burk represents the interests of the business group. Business always lacks humanity. Therefore, this character is responsible for explaining the reason and setting obstacles to the protagonist.
It's just that when the existence of aliens expands to the entire planet, the tension is much less. The last battle was just a fight between the two mothers for their children.
When the director has given humanity to the alien body, then people have less fear of an unknown object. What can arouse the most real fear in people's hearts, I think it is probably those things that have abandoned humanity.

Looking back at the sequel now, I realize that the entire "Avatar" can only be regarded as a remake of the film. The lonely heroine in Kashen's works is full of sadness from beginning to end, but it is also because of the surviving little girl. Let her be reborn, although the perspective of thinking is somewhat unbearable, but the entertainment is arbitrarily deployed by Kashen, which is beyond the reach of Scott's original version and shocking.

Ridley Scott's first was super scary, James Cameron's second was a super blockbuster.

Aliens quotes

  • Private Hudson: [puts his rifle against Burke's head] I say we grease this rat-fuck son-of-a-bitch right now.

Corporal Hicks: It just doesn't make any goddamn sense.

Ripley: He figured that he could get an alien back through quarantine, if one of us was... impregnated... whatever you call it, and then frozen for the trip home. Nobody would know about the embryos we were carrying... me and Newt.

Corporal Hicks: Wait a minute, now... we'd all know.

Ripley: Yes. The only way he could do it is if he sabotaged certain freezers on the way home... namely, yours. Then he could jettison the bodies and make up any story he liked.

Private Hudson: Fuck. He's dead. You're dog-meat, pal!

Burke: This is so nuts. I mean, listen - listen to what you're saying. It's paranoid delusion. How - It's really sad. It's pathetic.

Ripley: You know, Burke, I don't know which species is worse. You don't see them fucking each other over for a goddamn percentage.

Corporal Hicks: All right, we waste him. No offense.

Ripley: No. He's gotta go back.

  • Sergeant Apone: All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I *love* the Corps!
