"The Martian" is a science fiction adventure film produced by the 20th Century Fox Film Company, directed by Ridley Scott, Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Che Co-starring Walter Eggafort. The film is based on Andy Weir's novel of the same name. It tells the story of Mark lost contact with his team due to a sandstorm, left alone on Mars, facing the destruction of the spacecraft, and trying to get back to Earth. The film was released in the United States on October 2, 2015, and was released in mainland China on November 25, 2015 in IMAX3D format.
I thought it would be a disaster film, but after watching the full film, I found that it was not. The overall setting of the basic film, Matt Damon's optimism is beyond expectation. One person eats, one person is in a daze, one person listens to music, one person sleeps, one person grows potatoes, one person looks at the scenery...At the same time, the film also denies "the loneliest thing in the world is eating hot pot alone." It's "surgery on oneself alone". Anyway, he has been working hard by himself from beginning to end, which is simply a big distress! Because of the food shortage, the protagonist decides to use his biological expertise to save himself. So he became "the first person to grow Mars", and the original heavy "Space Version Desert Island Remains" was filmed into a funny story of "Uncle Mars Planting Potatoes". The soundtrack of the film is disco, which is really good! Matt Damon also completely turned Mars into his own "disco", but the music is indeed pretty good.
This movie tells us a truth, the sky is endless, even on Mars, you can always go home if you think of a way. Once a person is abandoned on Mars, he can live and go home in every way possible, not to mention that we are not alone on Earth.

The Martian quotes

  • [first lines]

Melissa Lewis: All right team, stay in sight of each other. Let's make NASA proud today.

Rick Martinez: How's it looking over there, Watney?

Mark Watney: Well, you will be happy to hear that in Grid Section 14-28, the particles were predominately coarse but in 29, they're much finer and they should be ideal for chem analysis.

Rick Martinez: Oh, wow. Did everybody hear that? Mark just discovered dirt.

    [laughs]

Rick Martinez: Should we alert the media?

  • Bruce Ng: Mars' atmosphere is so thin, by the time the ship's going fast enough for air resistance to matter, it'll be high enough that there's practically no air.

Vincent Kapoor: You want to send him into space under a tarp?

Bruce Ng: Yes... Can I go on?

    Vincent Kapoor: [frustrated look] NO.
