Forrest Gump (played by Tom Hanks) was born in a small town in southern Alabama shortly after the end of World War II. He was born mentally handicapped and had an IQ of only 75. A-Gump went to school like an ordinary child, and met her lifelong friend and beloved Jenny (Robin Wright Penn).
