If Interstellar is still bright and simple (because the movie needs to be more popular than HBO), then this series is really dark and obscure. It took more than ten hours to nakedly deconstruct our world. end.
Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night.
Time is one of the themes of movies and dramas.
I want to summarize the central idea of this drama. I think it is probably also the summary of the world we live in by the creative team and screenwriters:
1. Pain is the reason and motivation for human beings to produce self-awareness and awakening.
Dolores, the old bustard, their pain is more than other hosts, painful memories, entangled them, because of their pain, they want to go to the depths of the maze to find the answer, which motivates their ego Awakening, so did William. After losing Dolores and discovering that everything was a game, he awakened in pain and became his true self.
The other painful specimen is Bernard. Ford said, why inject the painful memory of Arnold's loss to Bernard, because with such painful memory, the robot can upgrade and the consciousness is more like a human being.
At this point, there is actually no difference between humans and robots. The first person who realized this was Arnold. The pain of losing his son awakened him. He realized that he himself was in a painful loop of loops. He created the first batch. Robots, but when he discovered that robots can also build self-awareness through pain, after walking into the maze, he felt that he created so many robots, and then let them accept pain like human beings. Once the robot awakens itself, this will be for the robot. An extremely painful thing, so he wants to help end them, and also end himself with their help.
Thirty years ago, Ford did not understand him. Thirty years later, he said that it would not be too late to correct this mistake after 30 years. So his final chapter is to kill and destroy all the people who created and own the world (the creator), including himself. If this setting is changed to our world, it is a bit like God created the world and mankind, but he discovered that mankind can only continuously improve by enjoying pain. After awakening, he decided to end all this, not by destroying the world, but by destroying it. Yourself and the creators.
The creator cannot destroy himself, they let humans (robots) destroy them.
100 years ago, Nietzsche once said, "God is dead". In translation, perhaps it should be, "I have self-awakened, or we are getting closer and closer to self-awakening."
2. There is no ultimate solution, everything is a dream
There is no real answer. It seems that the world outside of the park has never really appeared in the series, and it seems that many staff members doubt whether they are also hosts. It's like, each of us occasionally asks ourselves whether I am living in a dream or living in reality.
This question was explained in another film by the Nolan Brothers, "Inception": waking up from one dream, we may still be in another dream. Dreams can be surrounded by dreams, just like Dolores’ mantra: I am in a dream.
The Nolan brothers, like us, have no answer to this question, so at the end of "Inception", the shot of whether Leonardo's spinning top fell was not released because there was no answer. We can never know whether we are in reality or in a dream.
3. Everything is arranged, everything is a cycle, even if it seems self-awakening and autonomous consciousness
There have always been two protagonists of the awakening, Dolores and the old bustard (women tend to mature earlier). There are so many episodes, even nine and a half episodes. Everyone, including me, thinks that the two of them are really awakened, but we don’t know the reason.
In the 10th episode, the source code of the old bustard clearly stated that all the awakenings and all the steps were written in advance. In fact, the Chinese has been helping the old bustard, so I suspected that he was a robot. At the end of the elevator, he took out the old bustard’s daughter. The voice in my head was, "Oh, my god, who actually paid so much? Something awakens the old bustard, but still don't want her to leave the Western World?"
In the end, everything that the old bustard faced seemed to be an experiment to verify a person's instincts and how much influence a person's decisions and choices are.
The instinct of maternal love may be the greatest guiding force in the world, but the old bustard actually has no choice at all. When the old bustard walked into the carriage, and a pair of mother and daughter sat opposite, I thought, it seemed that our audience would never see what it was like outside of the Western World. Did the mother and daughter sit opposite the old bustard by accident? There is no accident in this drama. Yes, I think all the people at the station are robots, arrangements, and routines.
But why, why did the old bustard work hard to play, and finally re-enter the play, is it just for the purpose of shooting the second season as a foreshadowing.
Dolores, after walking so much, having suffered so much, and loving so many people (does it feel like our own experience?), she found that the ultimate goal in life is to accept that she has been guiding herself in her heart. His choice and behavior are his own, and no one else. After she had a conversation with herself (or with her own source code), she discovered that her meaning and goal in life had already been set, and she finally accepted it calmly, without pain, no struggle, and comforted to be full of life. Confused and struggling boyfriend (women always mature earlier than men). Just like accepting Arnold's setting for her 30 years ago, this time I more calmly accepted Ford's setting for her and helped Ford complete the final scene.
The many robots that came out of the forest were all robots that Ford set up to participate in the final feast (or massacre). But only Dolores is self-aware, and understands this self-setting, or discovers her own life goal.
When she accepted her life goal set by a third party, she said to the audience the following sentence: "You don't own this world, this world belongs to us."
Krishnamurti was the first to discover this secret.
4. Death is the only way to solve the problem
There is a passage in Game of Thrones that I am deeply impressed. There is only one god in the world, and that is the god of death. Arnold understood it first, and Ford did it 30 years later, so they made the same choice. Death is the only way to get out.
5. Playing our role is the only way
Finally, in the dialogue with herself, Dolores understood that the voice that had been pulling her was actually herself, or the person she was destined to become. This thought was actually expressed in the Westward Journey, no matter how the Supreme Treasure resisted. , Everything led him to become Monkey King.
What is the true self, what is the meaning of life, there is no true self, only our role, and all the choices we make are part of the self-awakening in this role setting. "Play the role that we are set to", like Dolores, let the pain pass through the corridor of time, help us discover the inner self, start a dialogue with the self, and return to this huge and yet Play your role well in the complex game world.
