Superman's Road to God: Thoughts on the Director's Cut Version

Compared with the two-and-a-half-hour cinema version, the three-hour director's cut version does have a lot more plots, and they are all very important. The plot fluency of the edited version is significantly higher than that of the cinema version. The director of Zha does have an aesthetic choice for obsessive-compulsive disorder. The important plot shots are willing to cut, but so many beautiful slow-motion shots are still left.

No external subtitles are installed, the last one is in English. The script is very literary, and the inner meaning of some sentences is not very clear. However, it does not affect the understanding of the plot, and it also reduces the interference of language conversion. After watching it over and over, the afterthought is very different from the cinema version.

1. Two fragments of Superman's investigation of Batman. The first segment is the first time Superman saw people's fear of Batman when he went for an interview, and started the investigation of Batman from this. The second episode occurred before Superman intercepted the Batmobile. Reporter Clark went to the Gotham Police Department to investigate and found that the criminals who were branded with the bat were killed in prison. The criminal's widow told him that bats tried bats and no one could stop them.

Before these two clips, Superman started investigating Batman on his own initiative and then intercepted the Batmobile, which is a kind of self-righteous willfulness of "I think you are not doing it right, I won't let you do it". These two clips have greatly changed the initial impression of Superman, although he is too simple compared to the master and Luther. But as for the truth, he is also understanding, thinking, and making a serious decision.

2. Louis' investigation of Luther. There are too many cuts here. In these clips, it is fully demonstrated that Louis has unearthed Luther's conspiracy bit by bit by virtue of his courage and professionalism.

In the theater version, she is more like a vase character, and here Louis, she ran to stop the battle between Batman and Superman, and she conveyed Luther's conspiracy to the two. She is really the one who can stand behind Superman, help him and support him. Louis here makes me feel stronger than Superman.

3. Luther's Bureau. Louis's investigation of Luther also brought another piece of information: Luther is manipulating the public opinion orientation towards Superman step by step, creating Batman's hostility towards Superman. In the plot of the Superman trial, a large number of fragments were deleted, such as witnesses telling the truth about the female congressmen were silenced, for example, the master discovered the bright red accusations left by his disabled employees. Before leaving, Luther shouted to his female assistant to help him reserve a place. While looking at the empty Luther Seat during the Superman trial, the female congressman realized that she was terrified and the female assistant was still wondering that the boss had not yet arrived. At this time, Superman only saw the frightened face of the congresswoman, and the disabled employee's chair exploded.

At this time, the master happened to see the phrase "YOU LET YOUR FAMILY DIE", thinking that the employee he rescued with his own hands was trying to die, so he determined to be Superman.

After investigation, Louis discovered that the employee had kept food in the refrigerator for several days, and did not know that his wheelchair had dynamite (and was also wrapped in lead). Of course, this clip was also deleted.

4. Superman's heart. It is not clear which plots are involved here, but the depiction of Superman's heart is completely different. You can see his confusion and unwillingness with people's misunderstandings, you can see his disagreement with Batman's behavior, you can see his loneliness and fragility as well as persistence.

Compared with Superman, who was always righteous and the sun was like a god, Superman became more like a person who could not find his own position. In the end, he could only find a sense of belonging in Louis. This is also the warning of the Flash and the last of Superman. The sacrifice planted the seeds.

5. Wonder Woman's choice. There are many more clips of the heroine seeing the news, combined with the last heroine saying that she has lost confidence in humans, and she can realize the hesitation of the heroine about returning to the world.

6. The shadow of Daxes. Luther was afraid of Daxes. This may be my personal opinion, but in the extra Daxese fragments, Luther's expression after seeing Daxese is definitely not a joy. During the confrontation with Batman in prison, Luther felt a sense of cowardice that he had done something wrong and couldn't stop it. I think Luther does not want to summon Daxese, or even many people outside the universe. He himself wanted to destroy this supernatural power. So he first instigated people (Batman) to fight against God (Superman), and then created demons (Day of Destruction) to fight against God. But it was all the power within his control after he learned (teach me).

Luther in the movie is a smart man with deep scheming and coldness, but he is not a lunatic. He has no reason to let Daxese descend to destroy mankind.

7. The change of Batman. Watching the full movie, the most clear thing I remember is that a few more exercise shots have been added to make the process of preparing for Superman more clear.

After Superman's psychological description became delicate and smooth, Batman's inner tyranny and irrationality were brought out. The master in this film is not the master who still holds hope in the deepest despair. The film implies that Batman has lost hope after two decades of hard work, becoming angry and extreme. Finally, Batman was influenced and changed by Superman. He said to the heroine that there are still good people in the world, but they are actually talking to himself. Finally, Batman engraved the brand on the wall instead of Luther's body, which has shown that reason and trust have returned to Batman.

After watching the director's cut version, as a master of life, I was a bit sad to find that super talent is the hope in the story, and Batman is an extreme expression of people's attitude towards superman. This story has a very obvious religious implication, and it is two different styles from the philosophical discussion on The Return of the Dark Knight. Under the eye-catching title of "Batman v Superman", "Dawn of Justice" is the real theme. I can only look forward to seeing the Dark Knight returning to the right path and embarking on the journey of finding a righteous partner.
