Even before "Toy Story", the practice of activating toys was not uncommon, but few people used the clever idea of "what would happen if a toy knew that it was a toy". But before "Mind Attack", no one thought of cartoonizing people's emotions. You can only experience various emotions in each cartoon character, but you have never seen a cartoon image of happiness or sadness. Moreover, the five emotions of joy (lele), sadness (sorrow), fear (fear), hate (disgust) and anger (anger) are highly generalized. "Brain Attack Team" once again expands the extension of the infinite possibilities of animation, bringing us the kind of exclusive enjoyment of imagination.
If it is only to cartoonize emotions, the film is difficult to promote. Its even more incredible innovation is that it constructs a cartoonized worldview of people's thoughts and consciousness. It condenses every memory segment of a person into a memory ball; defines the memory that forms people's main attitudes and values as the core memory ball, and creates a small island world of its own for each core memory ball; it distinguishes appropriately The short-term memory area, the long-term memory area, and the subconscious area visualize the mental processes of how to call memory and how to generate dreams; it turns the mind into a train and shuttles in different memory areas. These imaginative worldviews that cleverly visualize the conscious process that we are used to but have never considered carefully are really mesmerizing. That's right, it's this kind of mood that we know that it is not in our minds but would rather believe that it is true, which is the highest state of animation that brings people to enjoyment.
Another wonderful and pertinent aspect of this worldview is that it ultimately reduces the factors that determine all human behavior into two dimensions, one is memory and the other is emotion. Each memory ball contains what it remembers and a kind of emotion. And when a person is truly mature, it may be when the memory ball contains more than one emotion. It reminds us that, in fact, all human attitudes, behaviors, values, and abilities are determined by memories, and it is emotions that give these memories their true colors. If memories are objective, something that we experience and cannot be changed, then how to deal with these memories and what kind of emotional color should be given to them are subjective things that we can determine by ourselves.
We found that, in fact, every emotion, even negative emotions like sadness and anger, was originally acted for the sake of the little girl Riley. This kind and optimistic inference is an important aspect of the film leading us to think about our own emotions. We need not only positive emotions, but also negative emotions. Positive emotions and negative emotions are not enemies. Worry is not someone Lele should abandon in the memory bank. Lele’s yellow memory ball should not be a restricted area that Worry must never touch. In the end, isn't it just through the vent of sad emotions that Riley's new memory and emotional understanding are established? And we noticed that the film described the five emotions of Riley, father, mother, passers-by and many other characters. Not all of them are Lele standing in the middle. As a child, Riley may be mainly joyful, but The father may be dominated by anger. These details have brought us a new perspective of thinking about different people's different emotions.
We also want to applaud the sadness contained in the film that can evoke the memories of everyone's heart. This is embodied in the collapse of Trick or Treat Island and the dedication of fantasy playmate BingBong. The collapse of Trick or Treat Island means the end of an unrestrained childhood. People will always enter a world of rules. How many people can survive the unrestrained troublesome childhood of this kind of frame? Just like "Toy Story 3" brought us the incomparable nostalgia for the childhood that is gone forever, "Mind Attack" gives us a chance to say goodbye again to the memories that we once cherished but had to lose. Although we may really not remember those goodbyes.
We also need to applaud the concept of family and education embodied in the film. Even in the most critical moment, Riley's family island did not eventually collapse. The family has always been the strongest harbor to support a person's survival. The love from the parents comforted the daughter's sad mood, thus completing the reconstruction of the family island. When you see Riley sitting on a branch sadly because of the loss of the championship in your memory, her parents come to accompany her, make her feel dependent, get warmth, and walk out of sadness and form a happy mood. You will feel It's great to have such a home. When you see that your parents are anxious because of their daughter’s disappearance, and the first time after your daughter returns home, instead of sending accusations, but sending hugs, you will also want to accept this American family education view from the bottom of your heart. .
We also want to cheer for all possible plot challenges in the film. The activities of the villains and Riley’s own actions, the two closely intertwined montages are amazing. When I saw the bottomless abyss in the long-term memory area, I actually did not expect the protagonist to be true. Of falling. But the film broke through my psychological defensive bottom line, let Lele fall into this unresolved abyss, and completed an incredible self-help from the deepest valley in terms of geography and mood. Because we have seen too many tastings, we are shocked by such a desperate situation.
There is no enemy in the film, but it is exciting from start to finish. From Lele's point of view, she overcame all difficulties to complete a task; from Lele's point of view, she achieved growth. Lele is an emotion in Riley's mind, so we have reason to think that she grew up on her own. This actually brings confidence in life to everyone in reality, that is, no matter what difficulties we face, we should all have the ability to adjust ourselves, for ourselves and for those who love us. Because each of us also lives in the mind of those five villains who are thinking of you and working hard all the time, right?
Thinking of this, I feel very happy!
PS: Thank you Pixar for shooting such a movie that made me out! (Do you think this joke is cold, haha)
