The deal with the devil

In layman's terms, this is a story of a young man who wants to become the best drummer. Who would have thought that I was terrified to watch, especially after the second half of the film I was pinching myself to watch it.

It is not an ordinary inspirational film. It is true that the protagonist is persistently yearning for success. In fact, he is not particularly clear about the purpose of success, but he vaguely thinks that if he becomes the best drummer, he can live a decent life (this is what he said at a family gathering. Of course, if I heard it correctly, English Listening needs to be improved). But right now, success is to be recognized by the best teachers in the school.

There is always a thin line between obsession and paranoia. At first he just wanted to go to the classroom with excellent students, and then the teacher selected him to go, the little flowers of happiness in life bloomed, and at the same time he caught up with his beautiful girlfriend.

Ending here is also good for him, and it feels like a bright future.

But when I went to the new classroom, as a backup drummer, tempo didn't just drag and rush. If it weren't for the devil howling at him, humiliating him for being abandoned by his mother since he was a child, then throwing cymbal at him. He should still be obsessed with trying to beat the drum well, but he is not paranoid.

But all this gradually aroused the paranoia in his body, practiced day and night, hand drums hurt Bundy and posted it again and again, and it could continue.

Finally, the opportunity came to get the position of core. The ending here is also normal, inspirational, you can succeed with hard work.

But these are the beginnings, so the next series of tug-of-wars between him and the teacher, I believe he hates the teacher, but begs for his praise. The more he thought he would get it soon, and the less he didn't get it, the closer his paranoia was. I think in his heart he doesn't want to be the same person as his father, doing nothing, even if he wants to be a writer, he is willing to be a teacher. His father advised him that he would have a different perspective in the future, but at the moment all he wants is to be recognized. Girlfriend can abandon, and she still only wants to participate in the competition when she was hit by a car. After losing the game, she was forced to quit, accumulating grievances and unwilling to break out, and rushed to the teacher to fight.

Of course these are from his perspective. For teachers, they will not stop'confronting' with you just because you are persistent, you want to succeed, or if you make some progress. It is to use all the methods to humiliate you so that you don't stop, and the meteors rush forward with stride.

Teachers don't have the slightest love for students. For him, students are machines that will make beautiful music in the future. So even if the students are obviously scarred, he will not stop spurring them. For him, music is supreme, you can play wonderful music, no matter how much you hate you, you are a gift. He said that the two most ruinous words in the United States are good job. He felt that truly talented people would not be discouraged.

This movie reminds me that everything in this world has its price. The thing you want in your heart is usually not easy to get. The thing you most want the most may require you to peel off a layer of skin and lose a lot of things before you can have it. Many people may just think about it, and many people may give up in a fraction of the time, such as the hero's father. Rather than saying that truly talented people will not be discouraged, it is better to say that people who really want such things will not be discouraged. Most of us just want to work easily, get more money, and travel a few times a year. It should be the group of people who were discouraged very early. Take me as an example, I hate other people criticizing me to make me grow and change. Since I came to the United States, as long as I have a little achievement in my work, my boss will say good job. I think my goal is not very big, so I like to be encouraged to make progress slowly. But when I was in China, I was criticized more often. I remember that when I was a child, because I did something, the teacher asked me to stand up in the class, scolding me for a long time and humiliating me. My feeling at the time was to hate this teacher and hope that he would never appear in my life. After that, I will still live how I live. The teachers in the movie should also not educate people like me, but the potential elites may really be able to achieve amazing skills under his education, but the kind of self-esteem and simple happiness should be in pursuit of music. Lost on the road. But like I said, everything has its price. This in itself may also be a deal with the devil.

After a lot of thoughts, I went back to the movie. I think such a simple story, so rich in the director's film, is really amazing. I think the film is also suitable to be made into a drama, stage play or something, because the venue is basically in the classroom and the performance hall. And the main point is the tension between students and teachers. JK Simmons played very well. I think the student actor is a bit too hard. I watched the movie and went to check Jo Jones (it’s the name) on youtube. Even if people play drums, they still look normal on their faces. That student actor, are you Lang Lang? (There is no meaning of black Langlang, did Langlang write that way, I don't bother to check it). But if it's not too demanding, the young man also plays well.

In addition, I watched an interview with the director in a certain magazine, and he said that the movie was actually a tragedy in the end.
