The other side of fearlessness is evil

"Nightcrawler" is a movie that shocked me in 2014. It is not that it was shot perfectly, but the content it presents is like a mirror, which shines into my heart and makes me continue to reflect on whether I also have Lou. The perversion.

People are multifaceted, wearing different masks and speaking different things in front of different people. And when you are alone in the dark night, the evil in your heart will appear. Not everyone wants to be a superhero, more people will be driven by evil in their hearts and desire to be a bad guy. It can be said that everyone has an evil heart, but there is no chance to show their ambitions. Our protagonist-Lou, while advancing toward the ideal, he brought into full play the evil in the dark night.

Why do so many people have such a strong sense of substitution for Lou? Because he is a small person, an ordinary small person, like most people, struggling in the dark corners of the city, trying to find a sense of existence. He used to be a thief, in order to calculate the points of the building materials stolen, trying to achieve success in the negotiation through his own efforts, but he failed. What he failed was not only that he didn't sell the stolen things for a good price, but he didn't even sell it himself, because the other party "would not hire a thief." He went out, showing a thin figure, smiling. In this scene, I think anyone struggling to survive in the city will feel the same, even though he is a thief.

When you think he should be scared, he rushes forward; when you think he should be angry, he laughs. Lou seems to only laugh, speaks in a low voice, and looks a little cowardly, but he is not like a normal person, without much emotion, just like a machine. Such a person is terrible, he can abandon too much feelings in order to make himself more fully devoted to one thing.

Therefore, when he discovered that he could be not only a thief but also a news shooter at night, his inner desire burned. The previous sneaky behavior can finally be justified, and it can also be labeled as news and rampage. This kind of change is desired by the little people, from hiding from the police to chasing the police; from hiding in the corner and not daring to see people, to breaking into the house in an open manner. Lou changed from an ordinary thief to a news thief.

From the perspective of news professionalism, what Lou did is understandable. In order to shoot better news content, he can redesign the scene and remain indifferent to the deaths of competitors and assistants, just because such news is more impactful. Powerful and more provocative.

Many people will be ashamed of what he has done, but they will substitute what he has done in their hearts. His shamelessness, his cold blood, and even the little power in his hands are what many people desire to be able to do, but they are unable to do it. People still have basic moral concepts, which are influenced by the emotions of the world. Lou doesn't. He doesn't need emotion or morality. He just needs his ideal to be successful, and he can develop and succeed in accordance with the dogma mechanically.

On the one hand, this characteristic of him makes people feel scared, on the other hand, it opens the door to people's evil hearts. When you have a chance to trample your competitors to death, will you do it? When you have an opportunity to transform from a small and insignificant person to a person with a little power and a little right to speak, will you be evil again? When you face the temptation of fame and fortune, will you be tempted? I think everyone will be tempted. And when no one can reveal the bad things you have done, will you also be shaken? Lou only went from fifty steps to a hundred steps. He broke through the sound barrier and took that step.

In fact, we may have done something like Lou, an evil one, for example, when no one sees it, we take the money, mobile phones, etc. we found for ourselves. Our inner morality is far less powerful than evil. If conditions permit, perhaps most people will release the inner evil strongly, not much stronger than Lou.

Lou is a mirror, reflecting people's hearts, tearing and shaking people's emotions. Is he right or wrong? Morally speaking, he is wrong; but there is a voice in my heart-I will do the same too!
