On a cargo ship moored in the port of San Pedro Bay, California, the injured Keaton was talking with an unseen person whom he called "Keyser." The conversation was very brief, and then Caesar shot Keaton suspectedly and set fire to the cargo ship. The next day, FBI agent Jack Baer (Jack Baer, played by Giancarlo Esposito) and US Customs investigator David Kujan (played by Chaz Palminteri) Come to the scene. There were only two survivors after the fire: a cripple named Roger "Verbal" Kint (played by Kevin Spacey), and a Hungarian criminal who was hospitalized. Bell questioned the Hungarian, who confessed that a mysterious Turkish mastermind named Keyser Söze had "killed many people" at the port.
With the help of translation, the police portrait experts were able to copy Sauze's appearance based on the Hungarian's description. At the same time, in exchange for criminal immunity, Jinte began to narrate in detail what happened. The police officer Jeffrey Rabin (played by Dan Haddaya) believes that Gint must have a strong background to get generous plea bargaining conditions and is favored by senior officials (including the "Governor"). After making a statement to the district attorney, Gint was taken to Rabin’s office to await a bail decision on charges of illegal possession of weapons. Waiting for Kuko there to ask Gent to recreate the original appearance of the incident, the story began in New York City six weeks ago:
Five criminals were taken to a police criminal identification. These five included: former police officer Dean Keaton who had been accused of corruption, sharpshooter Michael McManus (Michael McManus, played by Stephen Baldwin); McMahon Nas’s partner Fred Fenster (played by Benicio Dy Toro), he speaks bad English; Todd Hockney (Kevin) Pollack), he and McManus hate each other as soon as they meet; and Gint himself, who claims to be a fraud artist, suffers from cerebral palsy.
While in custody, McManus persuaded others to join the robbery, targeting corrupt officers of the New York City Police Department. These bribed police officers used police cars as tools to assist smugglers to reach their destinations in the city. After a successful robbery, the five went to California together and sold the stolen goods by Redfoot (played by Peter Greener). Redford persuaded them to vote again—according to the gossip, to rob the jewelry merchant. However, after they carried out the robbery, they discovered that the so-called jewelry merchants were not carrying jewellery or cash, but heroin. As a result, the five-member gang had a fierce dispute with Redford, who revealed that this was actually a task assigned to him by a lawyer named Kobayashi (played by Peter Puster Leeway). The five later met with Kobayashi, who claimed that Soze worked hard and threatened them to attack a ship docked in the port of San Pedro Bay. Kobayashi said that the ship was smuggling $91 million worth of cocaine, and the buyer was Soze’s competitor. The five must go to destroy the drugs. If they choose to wait until the buyer arrives, then they can freely distribute the robbed transaction money.
Time goes back to the present, and Gint begins to tell Cuco the story about Caesar Sauze he heard from Keaton and the other population. In Gint's vivid memories, he described Sauze as a "not so smart" but highly respected Turkish criminal. Soze used to be troubled by Hungarian gangs in Turkey. In order to prevent his wife and children from becoming hostages, Sauze killed them himself, and then began vendettas on all involved personnel, "including their parents and their friends...". After that, he mysteriously disappeared (Gint: "Just like that...he is gone"). Over time, Sauze's deeds gradually became a myth, and most people either doubted his existence or sneered at the story. Cuco had never heard of Soze before, so he asked Bell. Bell said that he had never met Soze personally, but he had heard about it for many years. He heard that Suze separated himself from the outside world through layers of subordinates. His subordinates didn't know who he was working for.
Gint also talked about Finster's attempt to escape, but Kobayashi sent someone to kill him. The other members of the gang thought that Soze was just a cover for Kobayashi to cover up his actions, so they hijacked Kobayashi and threatened Kobayashi to kill him if they continued to pester them. Kobayashi remained unmoved, and when McManus was about to kill him, he revealed that Keaton's girlfriend Edie Finneran (played by Susie Amis) was in his office. Kobayashi also threatened that if a few people were unable to complete the task, Eddie and the other gang members' loved ones would be maimed or killed by Soze's ("real existence, and determined attitude") men.
On the night of the cocaine trade, the Argentine gangster who was the seller met at the port with members of the Hungarian gang who were the buyers. Keaton asked Gint to stay behind and told him that if the plan went wrong, he should give the looted money to Eddie so that she could pay Kobayashi to get out. Keaton also asked Gint to convey his apologies to Eddie, because he couldn't get on the right track as he had hoped ("Tell her...I tried to reform"), Gint reluctantly agreed. So Gint hid in the distance to observe the ship, Keaton, McManus, and Hockney began to attack the people on the dock. Keaton and McManus both discovered that there was no cocaine on the ship, and Hockney had been killed. At this time, several Hungarians who had not been attacked by the three were killed, and the Argentine passengers on the ship who were under strict protection were also killed by unidentified attackers. McManus was attacked from the back and killed with a knife in the neck. Keaton, who was about to flee the scene, was shot down by a man holding a golden lighter. The man seemed to have a brief conversation with Keaton and then killed him (continued here from the beginning of the film).
Back to the present, Gint’s story ends. Cuco told him that with Bell’s help, he came up with another theory about the incident: the four people were sent to rob the ship not for the cocaine on the ship, but to ensure that the ship was on board. The Argentine passenger who could identify Soze was killed. Soze killed the man, cleared the other people on the boat, and set fire to the boat. Cuco revealed that Eddie had been killed, and he thought Keaton "was" Caesar Sauze. The ongoing investigation by Cuco is not good for Keaton, and Cuco is convinced that Keaton created the illusion of his death (and Keaton did so many years ago to avoid another investigation), and he deliberately made Gent a witness By.
Under Cuco's aggressive questioning, Gint broke into tears, admitting that everything was Keaton's own idea, but he was unwilling to prove Keaton was Sauze. After bail was approved, Jinte retrieved his personal belongings from the safekeeping place. At this time, Kuko was resting in Rabin's office. Suddenly he noticed that the details and names of people in the story told by Gint came from items in the room, such as a bulletin board filled with various materials by Rabin, and a coffee cup marked with a "Kobayashi" logo. Cuco realized that Gint's entire story was fabricated. He ran out to chase Gint, passing by a working fax machine on the way, and the portrait of Caesar Sauze that came out of it showed Gint's face.
At the same time, Gint removed the disguise of cerebral palsy after walking out of the police station. He walked into a car waiting at the door, and the driver was the "Mr. Kobayashi" in the story. When Cuco ran out of the police station and searched for Gint in vain, the car drove away slowly. The movie ends with Jinte’s earlier words: "Just like that...he disappeared."
Kobayashi: Mr. Redfoot knew nothing. Mr. Soze rarely works with the same people for very long, and they never know who they' re working for. One cannot be betrayed if one has no people.
Kobayashi: Mr. Leadford doesn't know anything. Mr. Soze rarely works with the same person for a long time, and they don't know who they are working for. If a person has no subordinates, he will not be betrayed.
Kobayashi: Because you have stolen from Mr.Soze, Mr Fenster. That you did not know you stole from him is the only reason you are still alive, but he feels you owe him. You will repay your debt.
Kobayashi: Because you stole What happened to Mr. Sozer, Mr. Fenster. You don't know that you can survive because you stole his things, and he thinks you owe him. You must repay.
Kobayashi: I don't think that is relevant, Mr Hockney. All five of you are responsible for the murder of Saul Berg and his bodyguards.
Kobayashi: I think it's okay, Mr. Hockney. All five of you are responsible for the murder of Saul Berg and his bodyguard.
Strausz: Do you guys know who the fuck I am? Do you know who the fuck I am?
Hockney: We do now, jerk-off.
Strausz : Do you guys know who the fuck I am ? Do you fucking know who I am?
Hockney: Got it? Idiot!
Verbal: Keaton always said, "I do not believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze.
Saliva Kindt: Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." But I believe, but the only thing in the world that scares me is Caesar Sur.
Jint: The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled ... was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that ... he's gone.
Gent: The greatest trick the devil have used is to make the world believe that he does not exist. It's like this-proof-he has disappeared.
