A pink old world dream

I ordered "Want to Watch" for this film last fall.
Not for the cast of HTC. Rather, I feel that a luxurious hotel on the verge of disappearance of the old world is always a stage for a good story.
I would have thought that there was a complicated structure and uninteresting tribute and recourse. Unexpectedly, the director even used sweet cakes and blockbuster pink to restore the lost dream so cute that it was tear-inducing.
The once dignified and elegant, apart from the golden light still appearing in the lines exported by the protagonists, the cartoon-like color and rhythm are enough to remind people in tears of the ideals that once existed in this world in the last century. Models, rules, and even a refreshing fragrance. Although they were all destroyed by war.

And the son of Mrs. D, played by Adrian Brody, is so charming, cruel, and neurotic in my opinion. Not all nobles are role models for all living beings. At the same time, there are both exquisite and cruel things, you can only helplessly judge as ruthless.
The day before yesterday, I was still watching Maugham’s "Casuarina Tree". Mr. Warburton described by Maugham devoted his life to becoming an upper class society. Even though he was used, laughed at and expelled from the social circle he admired and maintained, he had to commit himself to Malaysia. The British branch office of the region, he must also maintain the many habits of British society surrounded by a group of indigenous Malay servants, and pay close attention to the Times, which was delivered six weeks later than the British. The whereabouts of the nobles are reported.

I saw Mr. Warburton's shadow on Gustavo. However, Gustavo was lucky, he was not rejected by the upper class that he admired and studied (even though he was framed and chased due to wealth issues). The reason I think is that in his attitude, he has saved a little "game spirit".
How many people can face the prompt of game over calmly and even humorously? On the edge of the cliff, verses were chanted, in order to protect others and die at the rough muzzle.
Gustavo is truly committed to becoming the last gentleman and nobleman, not from the lineage, but from the spiritual and behavioral norms.

  • Agatha: [about M.Gustave and Zero] Whence came these two radiant celestial brothers, united for an instant, as they crossed the upper stratosphere of our starry window, one from the east, and one from the west.

    M. Gustave: VERY good.

  • M. Gustave: [pointing at an armful of flowers] These are NOT acceptable.

Hotel Employee: [bearing flowers] I fully agree.
