Going back to the film itself, I prefer this to be a niche movie, and it is a too modest and unsuccessful niche movie.
The reasons for non-popular movies are simple, the characters are simple (almost a one-man show), and the dramatic conflicts are thin (linear narratives are almost unexpected plots). The only commendable thing is the shocking simulation of the space environment, but this kind of novelty is difficult to last 30 minutes.
The reason for the unsuccess is also very simple. There is no bold breakthrough in philosophical thinking, which is an order of magnitude difference from the predecessor's "Moon" and even "2001 Outing in Space". Another problem is that this is actually not a science fiction movie in the strict sense, because all the plot settings are based on known existing technical conditions, but the scene is relatively unfamiliar, and it seems more reasonable to classify it as a disaster movie.
In summary, for those who have not bought a ticket, if you are a hardcore space fan or a fan of film technology, then just reluctantly buy an IMAX ticket. Otherwise, you must have some taste like mine.
