Basically, this is not an annoying movie. It seems to be rebellious but actually supports positive thinking. It looks alternative but also quite conservative. It looks out of the ordinary but is actually quite mediocre. The director spent a lot of effort on the performance of the male and female protagonists, but as a romantic comedy, it is really no better than Apatow’s otaku comedy. I don’t even think the theme of this film is more serious than that. In other words, is there any author’s view of life.
Director David O. Russell’s last film The Fighter also talked about family relationships. This part is probably the slightly more moving part of this new film. It’s a pity that Robert Diniello has treated the audience to him in recent years. Trust is exhausted, and his performance is not a bonus. But anyone who has come to Jennifer Lawrence is still worth visiting the theater.
