Oedipus in 2077

This time I returned to China and talked to a friend about the latest movie, which happened to be in time for the "Landscape of Lost Wars" which had just been released in China, so I recommended it to him. I also said that I have a half-written film review, and I have never had a chance to complete it. It is estimated that it will be abandoned halfway. Unexpectedly, I encountered a delay at the airport, which happened to be "stealing my life for half a day" to understand this public case.

(There are spoilers below, readers need to be cautious.)

For a science fiction fan, the movie "Lands of Lost Wars" seems a bit familiar.

• hero with bombs, mixed with the alien mothership, such as "Independence Day" in the plot;
• Since strayed into the restricted area, found themselves human cloning, and change the world, like "Moon", "sixth day" and " are 13 degrees fierce ";
• extraterrestrial intelligence, to seize the energy, mining Earth's water resources, and the" battle of Los Angeles "set consistent;
• the moon was destroyed, with the formation of satellites around the earth, as if the" time machine ";
• Highly mobile and wanton killing ball-shaped robot, similar to the robotic squid in "The Matrix";
• The protagonist loses his memory, and finally finds out that his wife is not real, and the beauty picked up from the outside is the real lover, and "Total Memory" Some one fight.

However, this does not prevent this movie from becoming an excellent hard science fiction film. I personally think that it is even far superior to the recently released "Iron Man 3".

Because a good movie does not lie in whether its creativity repeats the previous films, but in its expressiveness, as the connotation embodied in "Inception" can actually use the story of "Zhuang Zhou's Dream of Butterfly" two thousand years ago in China. To sum it up, "The Matrix" had a similar story in 1999, but this did not detract from its status as a great science fiction film.

Let's take a look at the uniqueness of "Forsaken Lands"? This is actually a typical Oedipus-style self-discovery process in Western mythology, but Oedipus found out that he had killed his father, blinded his eyes in anger, and cursed his fate; and Ah Brother Tang 53 chose to die with the extraterrestrial wisdom that deceived her, leaving his wife and unborn child to Brother 49. So this is still a typical Western traditional story of self-discovery and redemption, but it's just covered in science fiction.

Of course, at the beginning of the story, Brother Tom, because his memory was erased, did not feel that he was playing the role of an accomplice in assisting alien intelligence to suppress the resistance of the earth, but he was living in the cloud villa with the female clone who favored him. Happy in the infinity pool (to be honest, the scene in the film must be an extraordinary real estate design), and live the life of a fairy companion. However, he accidentally picked up an ancient collection of poems and kept thinking about it (Is it familiar with "Torn Doom/Equilibrium"?). As a result, he was discovered by the head of the earth's resistance force, the wily Morgan Freeman, that he still has a trace of humanity that has not been wiped out. Therefore, various traps were set up. After paying the cost of heavy casualties, Atang Ge No.53 was finally captured alive and revealed the cruel truth to him. (Similar to the red pill and blue pill in "The Matrix", isn’t it?)

It turns out that the earth was already occupied by alien wisdom, not the terrestrial people told by Tom’s brothers that defeated the aliens and moved to Jupiter’s moons. . After helping the aliens to slaughter the people of the earth, Brother Atang was given the role of maintaining the society to extinguish the sparks of the earth's resistance. In order to prevent them from discovering the existence of other clones, a patrol area was specially designated for each of them so that they could not discover the truth that they were clones.

Of course, there are some illogical places in the film. For example, the Earth Resistance fighters put on a helmet similar to a gas mask to prevent detection by the ball robot, but it seems to have no effect. It is better to get a picture of Atang. The mask on my face should be more effective. And when Morgan Freeman told Tomoko that at the beginning of the alien invasion, there were thousands of cloned Tomboys attacking the earth. It can be seen that making them aware of the existence of other clones does not necessarily lead to self-identity. Doubts.

After betraying his loyalty and finally discovering the truth, Tommy finally turned from a stability-maintaining puppet to a resistance fighter. But in reality, we often see that some victims end up not fighting against the real oppressors, but collaborating with the oppressors to oppress the more disadvantaged groups. For example, in Caixin's report on interception of visits to black prisons, we have read that some interceptors, who used to be petitioners, later became thugs and accomplices. I have to say that this is where reality is more sci-fi than movies.

    No. 49 made a glorious dedication, so No. 52 had such an inspirational story with his wife.
